If I saw a white guy pick up a rock, aim it at a black guy, and say “this isn’t because you’re black”, before chucking it at his head- that would be odd, but I guess I’d assume there was some context I might have just missed.

If I then observed the same white guy call two friends in with him, and they all reach into a satchel full of rocks, and chant “this isn’t because you’re black” before pelting him with each round of the rocks, I would assume it was definitely a coordinated attack that at least had something to do with race.

If the black guy finally cried out “is this because I’m black?” After 10 rounds of “not because you’re black” chanting and rock throwing, and the white guys smarmily rolled their eyes and accused the black man of victimhood, I’d safely assume all the previous chanting was some perverted scheme to justify the whole plot.

I think his TCF joke might be a reference to something that happened back in George Floyd days where a black guy showed up at a TCF bank and tried to get alot of cash out of several big checks running to tens of thousands of dollars.
