The problem with "evidence that bots have been culled" is that the company would have to state what proportion of the userbase is bots, I would say.

And that number is too high.

I've heard the Korean PR and marketing companies are willing to pay the 20,000 a year to to make sure they keep their clients boosted. It's pocket change to them. But it all adds up if you go to all the PR firms around the world.

"Not a bot" program should be relabelled "Not a lot for a bot" program.

He wants the bots, he just wants them to pay, and for Propaganda Machines, only paying $1 per bot is a bargain. Elon of course, knows this. He will declare in a month "there aren't any bots cause bots don't have fingers to pay the $1" but we know this is fiction.

My bet is, as they run out of credit cards to use, Elon will soon accept Crypto payments for the bots and all X customers to ensure they have a means to pay without needing that annoying credit card.

Just want to say that NPR received the same treatment, but the verification badge was then brought back due to complaining about not wanting to be silenced or something. Either way, I’m surprised that it finally took Elon to do this when looking at the negative op-eds being written about him in just a span of over the latter half of the year.

And mind you, those were just in the Tech section of their paper.

This NYT claim is fake. The badge is visibly still there. And:

It's all so tiresome...

It really is, but for those who struggle with it and not find it amusing; find your own base belief first and then rigorously defend it until it is proven either false or incomplete. Twitter is dead by virtue of the name change alone. If we assume both Twitter and X are dead simultaneously, that means that we should continue to expect huge, sweeping changes, ala MySpace transitioning to a music platform. If you expect the changes, it is less of a shock, and right now Twitter/X is the very definition of a liminal space in time. I think we are just more aware of it more due to how high profile people involved are and the propagandist media climate we allowed to happen.

Personally, my long term speculation is that Blue Sky will become the Twitter alternative and X will innovate the all in one format of social media until the next comes along built on the foundation of X's research and development.
