I read the article and from what I gather, the guy is disgusted by public displays of affection between gay couples. What does that have to do with privilege? Someone tell me. I'm disgusted by PDAs and I do not consider myself privileged as a result.

I should comment on this. Cameras cannot stop crime, they can discourage it by instilling fear in the aggressor of getting caught (not worth it, he thinks), and it also encourages the victim to bring it up with the police, as a proof of the attack exists. Louis-Alain Robitaille, from Collectif Carré Rose (Montreal group against LGBT violence) says so. Also it points toward the metro where agressions happened. Metro Beaudry is the metro straight in the gay district of Montreal. As you can see in the picture, it has bright rainbow-colored pillars, to represent homosexuality. It is also the only metro with "conveyor belts" for the people. It is extremely hard to walk on them in reverse.

And while I do oppose cameras, I do it mainly because that's too much privacy loss in my opinion. I get that it isn't to be "oppressive" on purpose like Billy thinks; it's designed to help people by making it easier to find who did what when a crime happens.

If it's supposed to be because it's a "natural creature" why aren't humans natural? Humans are animals too. It's not like they were genetically engineered into existence, besides, what's natural about a cat that can talk English? Normal cats can only hiss, purr, meow and make that funny sound at birds.
