Why would he be running a white light with a stand-alone night vision optic. I’m still going to bank on, if the police are correct, he’s using a QD night vision or thermal optic. Also, you can turn the night vision off on most of them and use them normally in the daytime.

It isn't thicker than a normal LPVO though, at least not one with lens covers that are flipped up, which is what it looks like to me.

If he has a NV scope I think its very likely he has it on a secondary rifle, he could have multiple weapons stashed In his car, he also seemed to be devoid of any sort of backup magazines on his person so I assume he has more Ammo stashed in the car as well, he could have grabbed some gear and ditched the car and is currently hiding in the woods.

Yeah and the big problem is where this happened. Not to PL too much but my grandfather used to live in Lewiston, but it isn't just Lewiston, right across the river from Lewiston is the city of Auburn, Maine, they are called the " Maine's twin cities" since they are right next to one another. That is a lot of ground to cover, especially when Lisbon is right there too.

Us Vets have a rough time with getting mental healtcare while active duty and even after through the VA, still, no excuse.

You don't harm your own people based on the battle in your head, you try to take care of yourself. Even when your brain is boiling over, you seek help and talk about what's going on even if it sounds crazy, been there, done that. I got pushed to the edge and threw a tantrum to get mental help after being initially rejected by my base's clinic. Not once do you try to hurt innocents.

As someone who's worked both in a mental hospital as a nurse assistant and as military police, this country does not have the proper funding or protocol to help prevent shit like this nearly enough. Especially with the pressures retarded globohomo BS has forced upon our society through all levels. You can't completely get rid of the evil, but sure can mitigate it by repairing our culture and society in relation to these issues. We need to be more prepared for bad shit to happen like this as well to protect ourselves.

We don't do near enough outpatient and no longer institutionalize others to protect society nearly enough.

Also worth a look into what or who possibly influenced Card to do this.
