Sam can fly under the radar for some time and figure out what he wants. He has a bevy of sisters and a mom to cook and do his laundry, and he doesn't find the lack of privacy weird.

Speaking of Sam, he was seen in the ER for a broken nose recently, looking more skeletal than ever.
He's a legal adult now, so Jill taking over everything, taking photos, and singing like a lunatic is a bad look. I really hope someone else talked to him about his extremely low weight without Jill sing songing about his he's just a growing boy.

What options does he really have besides get married and hope his wife’s family gives him a job, go to some Mickey Mouse preacher school, or just stick with the status quo? His parents would never set him up with his own business or education so he can provide for a family.

If he's semi-literate or illiterate but only a standard deviation or two below normal intelligence, he can easily do construction, home and business lawn maintenance, take up welding, etc.
At some point, he's got to man up and do it. It isn't as hard a choice as you think. He can hang out and justify seeing half his siblings half fed as a reason, or he can take responsibility for himself and really stand on his own two feet and risk crashing and burning. Welcome to the crushing burden of manhood.

His brother was too illiterate for missionary flight school. You need certifications for welding.
I’d love to see him do this stuff, I just think it’s too big a lift and his parents are going to try to keep him from it.

You need math for welding, if you can't measure properly, you're screwed. Same with any construction work, you need to know angles for roof trusses and other work of that type.
I doubt Jill has taught her kids anything more than division, if even that.

Frankly it is a relief to see Mama Noyes alive and in control of herself enough to hold a young child - not that safety is an issue with these good God-fearing soldiers, so willing to sacrifice an infant to Pillow Mountain. But damn lady, super glad you pulled through.
My weird Rodlet fantasy is that Renee, Tim, and Sam hole up in the house together, saving their siblings one by one, with Heidi’s family serving as the Underground Railroad to their redemption.

No one's putting the kids down, most of us are pissed because they're getting a sub-par education from Jill "Bye-bull ritin" Rodrigues.

Well, not quite yet. Jill happily destroyed Renee's courtship because her beau refused to allow Jill to point at him in innumerable publicly posted photos, probably because the next youngest sister mom after Renee is only fifteen, and she can't afford to lose another housekeeper / cook / chambermaid at the moment.
Speaking of Renee and her ruined courtship, Jill is happily posting Facebook fiction where Renee is so way grateful to Sweet Mama for interfering in her love life (also, wow, way to make it all about you as well, Kathy).
Jill is also excited to offer us all a chance to send her one dollar, and then also one hundred dollars!
