This doesn't make sense because the backstop would be directly in front of his neighbors house, awful place to put a range. Most people in Maine use Sandpits or have 10+ acres where they can set something up.

That bird was acting in concert with the NH State Police helo earlier today and my suspicion is that it's been contracted by Maine State Police. The news chopper was around Lewiston and the Lisbon boat ramp earlier. It isn't in the air anymore. Honestly not sure if anyone other stations have one. I don't watch MSM.

Meth abuse maybe? It’s odd the way his family talks about him suddenly hearing voices and paranoia. If he was 18-28 I’d say it’s the onset of schizophrenia, but he’s 40. There are few scenarios where he has a psychotic break/severs mental illness onset at that age, but Occam’s razor points to really ramped up drug abuse.
Of course I should take his family saying it’s only a recent thing with a grain of salt, might just be a case of it only got so severe in the last year it torpedoed his life.
For whatever reason “people talking about me” paranoia is really common with meth psychosis and meth heads. At least “people talking about me” is reported as his main gripe, not CIA monitoring his brain waves, conspiracy paranoia, his thoughts being read, psychic powers, etc…

People look different from different angles and with different haircuts and facial hair configurations. Camera types and differing resolutions can also affect it. I'm all for conspirafagging but this is a stretch.
Also the armchair psychiatrists here are getting a little much. There are forms of psychosis other than schizophrenia that are not precluded by his age; even schizophrenia onset in mid-late 30s is not unheard of. We also don't know anything about this dude at all, he could be an alcoholic, have a TBI, suffer from PTSD, have a brain tumor, have recently gone through a divorce or other stressful personal event. He could have been experiencing symptoms for a long time before finally reporting them. I'm not saying it's impossible that he's just another methed out cracker from northern New England, but individual people are complicated, and there are plenty of other possibilities here.

That’s not a typical age of onset. For males it’s the 16-early twenties range that’s most common. Late onset schizophrenia I think is majority secondary to illness or drug abuse or severe trauma. It can just occur spontaneously post 40 but it’s not terribly common. It’s actually women who are more likely to have a first episode later
It seems unlikely someone stable enough to be a firearms trainer and hold down a job has been battling schizophrenia since their twenties and suddenly done this - you tend to find schizophrenia mellows a bit with age as well.
