Fire Emblem series

Yeah if Mangs started posting here, there'd be a WHOLE NEW ERA of dumb bullshit he'd have to deal with. Better to keep community interactions limited to his YouTube.
Yeah.
It would be a lot better if he stayed away or at least not make himself known. Though imagine if Chaz or Goosephone tried to defend themselves on here.

Would have been hilarious as people call them faggots as they call them out.

So apparently Mangs is running an Ironman of Path of Radiance on Maniac Mode and I have to ask is that Mode THAT bad?

Like I know that New Emblem of Light and Darkness had a Lunatic+ or something where all enemies had Vantage+ or some shit.

And add that with it being Ironman that makes it hard to do.
Can someone explain to me in no uncertain terms how bullshit PoR Maniac is?

It drastically increases the enemy density over the entire game, gradually raises their stats more than hard mode did and cuts down BEXP which makes it harder to get units with bad starts off the ground.
This starts out rough but doable, becomes fairly managable when your units start snowballing since they also get more kills per chapter but then becomes dreadful once you're in the late to endgame where they start to have capped stats and you can barely even double them anymore on top of them also being naturally bulky. Its especially bad with the high range paladins which are everywhere.
Its at its worst on the chapter where you face off against Bertram:

And this doesn't even account for the reinfocements (which at least aren't ambush spawns)

Its a shame too because I'd love if PoR was more difficult but Maniac was a lazy way to do it.

Yeah. I heard that Ashnard also comes back to life after you beat him once. But yeah. I can see why this would be awful to play in.

Maniac lives up to its name.
Btw Ashnard already revives on hard mode too and I wish that was part of the Maniac mode exclusive nonsense we don't have to bother with, he's insanely boring to fight against.

So, why do Edelgard waifufags always have to type up practical novels any time anyone even breathes a word of disliking or disagreeing with Edelgard?
Leftism and bruised egos concerning their lesbian anti-theist waifu. Edelgard is generally not a good person, so any attempt to save face requires extensive rants to make their simping seem sensible. Omegaxis was always the worst about this on the Subreddit, making nonsensical rants about how great Edelgard is and how evil Rhea and Faerghus are based on out-of-context lines and biased interpretations of dialogue and behavior. Biggest reason I stopped going to r/fe was the rants and endless Edeleth shit.

Since there's a Fire Emblem thread apparently I will take the opportunity to say that I rather liked Fire Emblem on the gameboy advance. Back in the day it was the best game I had on the system next to Castlevania: Circle Of The Moon, both of which I considered better than Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons.

In retrospect I'm ashamed to admit it might've been in a sort of dumb anime kind of way, if there weren't really slick battle animations it would've been half as cool. Not that it would've been awful, but not nearly as stylish.

And on the topic of waifus I think Lynn seemed alright. Perhaps unlike real life women, her classiness was inversely proportional to how much pants she wore.

I give it a thumbs up even though nowadays I'd probably find it kind of simplistic.

To steelman their (the Edeltard’s) position it’s more interesting to see your protagonist overcome something than to resist it and kinda change a little (but don’t ask too many specific questions about how). While Faerghus is just in need of some light reform but basically has to merely “Faerghus harder”.

But they don’t want to articulate their position in these more honest terms so they instead need Edelgard to be right all the time.

And a lot of people who disagree with them are kinda dimwitted wikipedia brained people who say it’s canon Rhea is a secret good person. And I don’t think the Blue Lions would be holistically remembered as fondly without fandom discourse for the reasons in my first paragraph. Many of them are flat and boring (the girls plus Ashed and Dedue) while the big time drama queens of Felix and Dimitri and Sylvain are only about 66% as good as people think they are (Sylvain is such a midwit character, a lot like Edelgard in fact).

The dark truth is that a lot of quality was sacrificed for the quantity of Three/Four Routes. Because just as Dimitri’s route is not really that exciting or interesting taken as a whole, Edelgard’s route doesn’t seize on its own advantages.

And Claude? I do not like him because he is black.

Honestly, the only things that I liked was that he couldn't really bond with anyone while he was crazy and Felix indirectly asking you to do something about it. And there's that bit when Randolph was killed, his sister tried getting her revenge, and he went back to getting depressed over it...Turns out the only thing that was capable of pulling his mind out of.the darkness was an healthy does of fake drama.

I was genuinely expecting an actual yelling match until I remembered what game that I was playing

Dimitri and Felix carry that house and even they suffer from Fire Emblem’s stilted methods of character development.

Sylvain fucking sucks though. In a story that followed through on the character they established in him he’d be a self-pitying narcissist who would say anything to get sympathy before turning around and behaving with sheer audacity. But that would be too adult for FE. It’s basically the Tony Soprano playbook where it’s made clear at a certain point that he actively does not want to change. Instead he never has to confront the real harm he’s caused and is just cured by… sympathy.

See, I pose my question because I've stumbled across tirades like these that are as recent as this year, and after vaguely remembering some of the other straight up rants I've seen people go on in defense of Edelgard, it's only now starting to dawn on me how potentially unhinged Edelgard simps are.

This whole following tear I'm about to post has to do with Buddhism, apparently. Which somehow also has to do with Edelgard, because... How dare someone critique Edelgard, I guess?

Some more Edelgard sperging.

I could post more but I think these do well enough to make my case for me. Considering I've seen long form analysis take place in previous posts ITT, I'm curious to hear what some other people's thoughts are on all this sperging, provided they care to skim through it all.
