How is it I keep running into danna "I'm still seething about my lousy hs prom." Terrance every couple of pages on here?
I don't blame you for sure. Dana Terance cannot tell a story to save her precious soul, and I feel like she needs to have her own lolcow thread at some point.
Generally speaking, I take Victorious as the last good Nick sitcom. The show was Dan at his most unhinged for better and worse in many circumstances.
Yea, I'm very surprised to find out that Victorious had some surprisingly good moments.
The late 00s had its highlights, mainly Kappa Mikey, El Tigre, Making Fiends and Catscratch, but it was also a pretty obvious downfall as the mentioned were dead before even airing.
Which is also why SpongeBob has taken the majority of the network. It's not just Nick's popular show, but it's literally Paramount's own version of either Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo, Spiderman, Mario or Simpsons. The company wants to milk it for years on end. During this era, a lot Nicktoons such as Barnyard, Kappa Mikey, FB&CC, Catscratch, Mighty B, etc. were fucked over by the yellow sponge.
It is that plus black rock and government incentives to hire minority voices (not white male). There is probably also “special favors” being done.
It's sad yet unsurprising that by 2012 or so, companies need to collect BlackRock money in order to chase trends and virtue signal about "caring about sex, gender, race, religion, etc." when they're the ones ruining society as a whole.
The only real Golden Age of Animation was the '20s to the '50s.
I'm more of a sucker for more underrated studios during those eras, basically stuff from the likes of Terrytoons, UPA, Screen Gems, Noveltoons, Harveytoons, Famous and Walter Lantz. But yes, Warner and MGM were among the best for sure.
