Heck, he didn't even get Misty's shoes correct. How on Earth does he think he can imitate the actual style of the cartoon without being lazy about it? I doubt he'd even put in the practice.

This is Dobson's new way of being a productive artist: find excuses to upload years old art and do so. Dobson is only pretending he wants to be hired to do this CD art so he can remind everyone he's totally an artist, look at the stuff he did ages ago. If he was seriously hired, he'd be in trouble because he's only drawn one picture in eight months.

Lets not forget that Dobson also took over 4 months to do one commission that cost 40 bucks and when he did, it was actually traced in parts from official artwork by nintendo and looked so utterly generic, people were laughing.
It also doesn't help that when it comes to the thing the one guy asks for, Dobson doesn't ask the following question first: Which style in particular?
Cause here is one thing about the Pokemon anime. Yes, the overall style hasn't changed much over the year.
But Ash went through some design changes in terms of his outfits and based on them he looked either younger or a bit older, depending on how you look at it.
So even the style f the show has a certain amount of variety to it and you can ask what you shall go for, if the guy has certain ideas.

And even then, I'm absolutely amazed by that. Dobson's coming across as the kind of man who'd literally do nothing, and that picture feels like a fluke, to be honest.
Also those Pokemon pictures. Where do I even start on that? I mean aside from being show/manga/game inaccurate and the Megavolt one being barely even related to the damn series to begin with. Just another lazy attempt to say "Look, I'm still an artist! See? SEE!?".
