I have been reading through these 2400 pages of posts but my eyes are starting to hurt. My tipping point was sometime last year when his streams all became him drinking and ranting about stuff outside of his wheelhouse (and all those fucking memorial RIP messages he constantly gets paid to read). Was there a generally accepted "event" that triggered all this?

The issue is that most people who live anywhere with snow have 4-wheel drive, typically. His mustang is back wheel drive, so beyond more power than he’s used to and he also probably didn’t have as much control as he is used to.

I have a tweeting and driving theory that I think is plausible....

His eldest son is likely on either the JV or Varsity soccer team at either the local Christian private school or public high school. Nick has mentioned the soccer games.

That would account for the 7 a.m. kid "activity" which - using my local schools as a comparison - is likely 3-4 mornings/week practices plus 1-2 games on the weekend. Practice would be 60-90 min. Then the normal kids simply walk into the school and start their academic day. No parents would be staying. Due to home schooling, Nick must stay in the car and seethe-tweet, or do errends before driving his son home.

So, drinking until 5 a.m. and driving to the practices IS insanity even by Nick standards. Cue the Learners Permit we know his son is getting. Nick would be required to be in the car but his son would drive, hence avoiding a DUI.

(He's likely currently at a game right now in near-freezing weather - yup, I looked up the temp - and, again, rage tweeting as we laugh. )
