The blockbuster movie musical was born during the Second World War. Never before and never again have we seen its like: it was all two-plus long runtimes filled with insane Busby Berkeley choreography, intricate set decoration, glittery and flamboyant costumes, and plots sugary-sweet. It was completely devoid of deeper meaning and audiences ate it up because their real lives were full of misery. The movies largely succeeded as an industry because of the war, because it was a brief reprieve.
Fuck this smug bitch up her own ass huffing her own farts. The industry is just so full these days of people creating only for themselves and not giving a crap about their audience.
