I'm one of those FOMO people that almost never unsubscribes from a channel. One of the only things that will make me do it is a pattern of SJW or TDS spergery. I checked in on DarkMatter's channel and it seems to have completely degenerated. Very few Bible story vids and the last one he did has what seems to be a Ben Shapiro strawman inserted into it.

Actually, I don't mind if a creator has a short segment at the beginning or end of their video, I actually appreciate it more because it makes it that much easier to skip past and ignore whatever they're shilling. Where I have a problem is the ones who do pre-post- and in-video shilling, enable youtube ads, plug their Patreon/OF/Whatever, plug their shitty coffee company, and STILL complain about Jewtube demonetization. Yes, Hambeast/Quarterpounder is the worst.

Unfortunately yes. I've had this happen, repeatedly, on a handful of channels I subscribe to. Not seeing notifications is bad enough, but ever since this behavior started happening I made sure to bookmark every channel I like. I think that the first time it happened was about four years ago. Some people claim that it has to do with you not interacting with the channel, or a lack of updates from the channel holder, but those certainly weren't the case for me.

The phantom unsubscribing/subscribing is definitely real. I've had to resub to Russell Brand TWICE since his whole scandal unfolded, and because he's the current poster boy of "wrongthink" it's definitely not a coincidence. And I've seen a few random channels in my subscription list that I know for a fact that I've never even seen one of their videos, much less be interested in subscribing to them. Why would I want to sub to some random nigger with 13 videos in the "self-motivation" genre?

If I'm subbed to a channel, it's because of the shared interest (unless I'm hate-watching, that is different lol). Beyond that, I don't care about the "identity" of the creator. There are plenty of creators who I know or this or that about and that is fine. It's when they USE their claimed identity for points or attention is where I get annoyed.

Same for me. Unlike alot of people on here, I don't really let someone's outside politics or actions really influence if I watch their stuff or not, unless it's especially heinous like actual criminal activity, underage/CP, etc. But if I watch a channel long enough, I can generally get a feel of their leanings, even if they're not overt about it. Personally, IDGAF if you're gay, straight, suck the Girldique, full on MAGA, whathaveyou, just keep it out of your content. I like bigclivedotcom because he's pretty matter-of-fact and dives into electronics and circuitry and all that. I've gotten the vibe that he's a big gay bear IRL, as he has mentioned going to certain types of bars and clubs in some of his videos, and he even had a short one where he was in a "club" restroom and pressed a "do not press" button that lit up a disco ball and played tacky music that was pretty hilarious. Yet he isn't "In your face" about it. It's when as mentioned, they go overboard with their identity politics is where I draw the like. Likewise, Technology Connections is a whiny theater faggot IRL, but he hasn't been stupid about it on his channel as of yet. Also, RegularCarReviews is teetering on the edge for me since he "came out" a while back, but hopefully he chills it with the "I'm Gay!" shit because I do enjoy the channel otherwise.

Thats why I have the utmost respect for Townsends. He made a whole video, after people tried to associate a video of his with being anti-Trump, explaining his non-political stances in his videos, and how nobody should try to attach an ideology or stance to his stuff, because he's all about homesteading and 18th century/colonial era history, cooking, and other things. And honestly, that's how it should be. If I'm watching a channel about video games, I don't need or want to be fucking lectured about troons, politics, or racism with an ideological bent.

I swear, the more I see YouTubers put "hilarious" faces in their thumbnails, the more I want to see a chainsaw lodged in them. I don't care how many MATI ratings I get, they're not funny, they're fucking obnoxious.

It's funny, because with some of the more egregious thumbnail reaction faces, you can actually see the same picture reused multiple times, with minor background things changed to suit the topic of the video. Rhett and Link are especially notorious for this. In fact I think it's kinda funny to play a game of "spot the reused thumbnail" with their stuff.

Lotta' people out here saying they don't watch someone for political beliefs but then get angry when someone does it to someone they agree with.

I think that there's a time and place for it. I expect it with DW, Crowder, Bill Maher, etc. But when a channel about cooking or retro-whatever starts screeching about trans rights or BLM, I'm out. Nigger, you're fucking entertainment, I'm here to pass the time and relax, not be preached to by some sperg in his bedroom with a webcam who thinks he knows better than me because he read just read "communism for dummies" in his gender studies class.

So, occasionally I watch the odd thing by Simon Whistler. I have a thing for niche documentaries and he crops up on my feed fairly regularly. I am not a fan- if he gets any faker than he already is he'll be the first human to organically evolve into CGI- but since he is so prolific there are frequently crossovers to my various interests.

I hate the shilling he does, because it does tend to be drawn out, but as a narrator I do think he is one of the best though. I am also confused as to how he is seemingly everywhere on YouTube though.

While its funny he is a tranny weirdo now it just sucks that I can't just have a normal, interesting channel that talks about gaming. They all have to be either super cringe shills, gender special lefties, or hyper autistic pol tards.
