Yeah because all the best stories throughout history were empathic and inclusive. Just ask Cormac McCarthy. These women are everything that is wrong with writing today.

What they mean by "empathic and inclusive" hardly counts as a story at all. The thing woke writers just can't get about good storytelling is that it has to have some form of realism that your audience can relate to. A lot of woke writing falls into two camps, one where it ends up becoming so ridiculous and offensive that everyone hates it, or the other camp where it's too boring for anyone to really care about. This is reflected in the protagonists crafted by this narrative. Many of them are terrible people that you're supposed to root for somehow, usually women (Think I am Not Starfire, Velma, Abby Anderson). In these cases, said characters are so awful for no apparent reason, and never get proper comuppance. Any character growth they experience is on a trait that doesn't matter to their character or wasn't a major fault in the first place. On the other hand, you can get a character like what this Alan Wake 2 woman appears to be, one-dimensional and #relateable. Disney has been following this trend a lot with all of their current female protagonists, since it makes money. Granted, there isn't really anything wrong with a cute-quirky personality type, but it gets boring pretty quick. It's just a formula that's so safe, the writers avoid giving said character any real faults for fear of being offensive. Woke writing always falls on one side of the scale. Really, a good character should take aspects from both. Yes, it is a good thing to include that realism of not everyone falling into a specific box, and yes it is a good thing to include some problematic behaviors that they fall into. Because that's what's realistic. A good character will have faults, hell, they can straight up be horrible people, but the clincher is showing what circumstances in their life have resulted in them. One last thing to note is that good characters typically grow (static characters can be good as well but for sake of illustration). Woke characters typically don't change, and if they do change it's just some contrived thing that they threw in near the end of the story that isn't satisfying at all.
TL;DR: Making good characters isn't easy, and woke hackjobs definitely can't do it.

These women
Soycucks and troons are likely on the payroll too, let's not give troons the benefit of being called women (unless theyre female at birth).

Characters going through an arc is like... basic story telling 101. I almost want to see a course provided by them on writing 101, I'm sure 75% of it will be dedicated to woke, cutting out nearly all of the teaching traditionally given to students. It would be a shitshow. Hell, they would likely spend 20% of the non woke time on bitching about THEIR personal life problems, an impromptu therapy bitching session to an audience of bored students.

The characters I related to most or loved most tend to be flawed but try and work around those flaws or spend time making up for them, regardless of race, gender, religion, etc. I care about a character because they're struggling against themselves or inner conflict on how to be a good person, not just because huwhite. It strikes me as absolutely baffling that they use characters not as someone interesting to watch, play, or read about, but as ME ME ME! Utterly bamboozled.

Or it will just be like the South Park Panderverse special where Cartman Kathleen Kennedy just screams; "Make them a chick and make them gay!", while bitching about the patriarchy.

The thing is, you can HAVE diversity if that's what you really want. The way people feel about diversity very much depends on what they prefer for their personal escapism, but everyone can appreciate a good story even if it's not your cup of tea. Art can give you a sense of empathy towards a character who is completely different than you if done the right way.

I think people are overthinking this. It's clear nobody there actually cares about videogames AND that they don't have a single ounce of talent, so they shit something up for people stupid enough to care about "inclusivity" and collect their paycheck. Pretty good scam, actually, but it doesn't change the fact that from what we know about these people they're likely mentally and emotionally ill to some extent as well and shouldn't be anywhere near the industry. Or any industry, we should just bring back asylums and let them sort these people out.

Playing Alan Wake 2, I didn’t mind Saga. Yes, it’s weird that it takes 2-3 hours before you play as Alan Wake in a game called Alan Wake, but I thought the character was fine. Very “grr I’m a strong mother” but whatever.

Then I get to the ending and she complains that Alan is “just another white man telling her what to do” and it INSTANTLY pulled me out of the game and now I hate her.

Also in trying to become ‘progressive’ they’ve now made it that Saga’s (black) father left her (white) mother to raise Saga all on her own. Wow a black man walking away from his familial obligations? Way to lean into racist stereotypical tropes Remedy! You need to do better!

*game sequel disrespects protaganist from previous game*
"Why isn't this making us money?"

Remember, Remedy didn't write this, it was those "Sweet Baby" fuckers who "made the game more progressive" from the original script. The original draft was probably thrown away when the female protagonist got shitted up, too.
BTW what the fuck kind of name is "Sweet Baby"? I think people going on about pedo symbolism are on to something here, after all molesting children and grooming them is the "in" thing right now with progressives.

Doesn't their logo have the little pedo spiral thing?

Forspoken also did the whole father does a pump & dump + two black characters & both are thieves bit.

It's weird how shit like that makes it into the game.

That is because the women who write these games, at their core, hate all men and never interacted with a black person before in their life because they all grew up in white upper class backgrounds. The only good black man in their eyes is one that is a emasculated nerd who is more or less the purse puppy to a white woman. Other then that they will be portrayed as being just as awful as white men.

It's a thing I've noticed, progressives really hate black fathers, or at least don't seem to think non-deadbeat black fathers exist.

God knows I've bitched about it multiple times in the Comics Sperging thread, but an example is the Preacher TV adaptation. Tulip is one of the main characters, a white woman whose story with her father is one of the best and most positive progressive messages I've ever seen: the dad is this big, super macho, guns and meat, "women sure are dumb huh?", chauvinist guy. So much so, his wife is pregnant and in the hospital giving birth, and he's at the bar with his friends; he doesn't even know what the baby will be, because he's such a MAN, he could only ever produce a SON, right? The wife dies in childbirth, and the baby is a girl.
He goes to the hospital and holds his daughter for the first time, and...
"That needn't be so bad"
From that point on, his entire worldview changes; he's still a macho guy, but he now sees women as people, and does his best to raise his daughter right, to give her all the skills she needs, and prepare her for a world he now recognizes tends to treat women not so well.
Then he dies in an absurd accident.
Still, everything he did made Tulip into a real strong female character, a woman who is smart, capable, and resourceful, while still being fallible and human.

The TV show? She's now black (or mixed anyway, she's played by Ruth Negga), and a strong female character, but the kind that RLM would describe; her introduction is literally doing some absurd action movie shit, I think it was a car chase that ends with her blowing up a helicopter or something.
And of course, her father is black (and her mother a white prostitute), who went to prison when Tulip was a baby, and once he's out, the first thing he does is get into a shootout with the cops and BRINGS THE SHOOTOUT TO THE HOTEL ROOM WHERE HIS DAUGHTER IS, ENDANGERING HER and of course he dies in the process.

So they could have adapted a wonderful character piece that shows exactly the kind of progressive message you'd think they'd want to show, a bad man becoming good by changing his perspective about how the world treats women, and they could have done all that with the guy being black, the race change wasn't the problem; but instead they reinforced the worst stereotypes about both black men and female characters.

It's not just a cope when they say progressives are the worst racists.

Also fuck Seth Rogen.

That's probably a factor, but like I said above, I think it's a larger thing that belies the real opinion progressives have of black people.

Nah, they worship the idea of the thug black guy as a "fuck you dad" combined with a messiah complex. Media where women get pumped and dumped are treated as some sort of racial justice rather than how awful black people are.

Both the Sweet Baby twitter account and Kim Belair's account are mass blocking anybody who even mentions the company. I'm assuming she's running the official account and is doing the whole Reddit/SA "MODS!?" thing where blocking somebody in her lefty brain means she's banished that chud forever, moving closer to ending racism and bigotry.

This really does need to get signal boosted. So far the only major youtuber I've seen cover it is Az, of FNT and "Fuckin' pronouns!" rant fame. Not a huge fan of his, but I'm glad he's talking about it.

This is insanely disappointing. Most people have gotten completely shit of this shit in their entertainment, so we might hopefully see some change.

The industry has wisely chosen to exclusively grant complete sellouts and game journos their respect. There's currently nobody at the mainstream level representing the average player.
