Snapshot of the lay of north Gaza. Note the push along the shoreline (tank column on beach IDF video) and the push across farmland to the main roadway leading south (tank vs car civilian video) . No idea if the IDF is holding that position.

Somewhat related, but the fact that Israel had strict gun laws (I assume that's about to change soon) when they're literally surrounded by violent sandniggers wanting to genocide them is absolutely insane. A number of stories from October 7th where Hamas was contained was basically a few Israelis with guns firing back and holding off the barbarian scumfucks wanting to rape, loot, and murder.
Like, if you require mandatory military service, allow anybody who goes through it access to weaponry.
You'd think Jews, who a few mere years before the founding of Israel were forcibly disarmed and then genocided by their neighbors would respect gun ownership. The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was an act of defiance allowed by weapons.
Hope this changes for every Israeli's sake.

It always struck me as a weird blind spot in their society. Granted, Israelis are so afraid of negligent discharges that they invent new shitty ways to carry firearms to all but make it impossible, but you really would expect them to be one of those places that legally mandates people to keep a rifle in the home in case of wild terrorists.

Found this video which looks like a mixture of body cam footage and other surveillance footage of Israeli police finding and rescuing a 6 year old and her baby sister while under fire, both witnessing at least one parent be murdered (both parents are dead but the video only mentions one dead in the car). Probably rescued at the last minute as two technical are seen approaching the car soon after.

You have hit the nail on the head, but a large chunk of the problem is the shitastic way that Israel handles conscription, which is the majority of IDF conscripts are Reservists, where they do a really lame version of bootcamp - one where you go home on the weekends, and the physical standards are nearly non-existent (mention that to any american vet and watch their heads explode)- and then if you have a job you are given the "one weekend a month" muster.
Which is not enough to maintain any sort of combat readiness. Look at the start of Iraq II and you see nearly all the casualities after the first few days are all reservists and support/logistics. Because they were not prepared for combat due to being soft-skill reservists.
Adding tho this problem: the majority of the IDF are jews. Imagine trying to convince a jew to endure any sort of physical hardship, imagine expecting them to sacrifice for something that isn't their own personal enrichment. You will then understand the impossible task IDF trainers have.
