There is currently a small drama ongoing in a shitposting subreddit for the Anime/Manga "Jujutsu Kaisen", due to a moderation decision to ban the subreddit's favorite (racist) meme. I found it interesting since it shows how reddit can still offer some sort of freedom of expression on smaller subs, but as they grow larger they start getting more and more censored, in order to fit with all the other subreddits mindset.
r/Jujutsufolk, focused on discussions about new chapter leaks, new episodes of the anime and a lot of shitposting, power-level fagging and a bunch of stupid gay shit related to the series. I'll post a few links to the subreddit, but if you care about manga spoilers, you shouldn't read the subreddit.
Sometime ago they started making and spamming low effort edits of this Biden meme, editing with character from the series using their abilities (original meme on the left, edit on the right):
Considering the meme image says "nigga", so you can probably tell what happened.
But the interesting thing is that seemly none of the users gave a fuck, or acted offended to it at all. For example, in this thread, the OP asked for everyone's favorite edit of the meme, with 150 comments, not a single one complained about the offensive nature of the meme. The OP is now deleted, but you can still read the comments and see all the racism:

Today, a couple of days after that post, the mods banned the meme:
This thread is currently the most controversial of the day, with 0 upvotes.
Their reasoning is quite interesting, "Due to vast amount of reports" the meme was banned, but as a lurker, I had never seen single comment complaining, so I'm curious to know where the fuck did these reports came from...
Most of the comments are making fun of the mods, complaining, or have been removed (most likely from posting the meme itself):

And here's a bit more serious take from the users:
And now, the frontpage is filled with shitpost about the mods, like this:
All of this will most likely blow away soon with no greater drama, redditors are already too docile to even care anymore. But I found it interesting seeing that there are still small pockets of sensible people on reddit that don't give a fuck about all this modern day bullshit, and yet, a few janitors are enough to end the fun of 65k readers.
