2023 Israel-Palestine Armed Conflict

Sorry if someone else already posted it but I was too lazy to check back all these pages but looks like some Chinese companies added their pinch of salt about that conflict.

Chinese companies purge Israel from maps of the Middle East amid surging antisemitism in the Communist state as Beijing plays neutral peacemaker in Gaza conflict

  • The Wall Street Journal on Monday reported that China's search engines Baidu and Alibaba do not mention Israel on their maps of the region
  • Israel's borders are marked, as are its cities, but the name does not feature - unlike neighboring countries
  • The WSJ reported that the move reflects 'Beijing's vague diplomacy in the region' and their unwillingness to support either side
Chinese tech giants Baidu and Alibaba no longer display the name of Israel on their maps, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday - a move they said reflected 'Beijing's vague diplomacy in the region.'

The online maps show Israel's borders and cities, the paper said.

But the country itself is not named - in contrast to other neighboring countries.

Oh shit

Holy shit, what if Hamas wasn't fully retarded?

I'm starting to see it.
What if Hamas went "full retard" so that peace indeed wouldn't be possible.
This move is a strategic victory for Iran (Houthis) because it forces Saudi Arabia to react.
What if the Muslim world unites now?

Can Saudi Arabia continue its stance against the Houthis and can it intercept missiles over its territory intended for Israel while being the host of Islams most holy places and having an already divided population that is equally if not more anti Semitic than most?

Isn't yemen a shithole taken over by extremists who incessantly attack Saudi Arabia? Isn't this declaration just symbolic?

I can't tell if you're being facetious. :story:
Nah we've been over this, they are Iranian supplied, got long range missiles and really, really hate Israel to the point that "hating Israel" is on their flag.

Also the whole point of this move is to tell the Saudis, "What, are you going to fight us now that the Jews are destroying Palestine or will you finally stand up?"

I don't like his use of the word Nazis for them. It's just not applicable other than the same hatred they had for us. One is political part and the other is a terrorist organization. Call them what they are. Terrorists.
We don't need to destroy meaning of words just because they have bad connotations.
I am islamically informed that they are the same thing
This is actually a pretty good thing for Israel, to be honest.

Saudi Arabia is at war with the Houthis, now the Houthis are at war with Israel.

In all fairness, they were more or less already in a state of war with eachother (Israel sends military advisors and trainers to the Saudis, in return for Saudi intelligence on Iran), but this is going to be something that adds one more reason for Saudi Arabia to side against the Palestinians here. Obviously, things are more complicated than just this (MBS is the one attempting to normalize relations with Israel and wants something more akin to a functional alliance, his father, the king, is more pro-Palestinian and old school).

But its an interesting development. The Houthis can't really do anything to Israel (and are actively fighting the Saudis), so congrats, they played themselves?

The arabs never get together to destroy "das juden". A lot the jew(Israel) hate was political for regimes to stay in power. None liked nor cared about palestine back then. Nasser was assassinated arguably due to his own anti-jew(Israel) push during the wars and then recognizing Israel as a state when he was put in an impossible situation. He dug is own grave by radicalizing his populace. It's why Jordan doesn't care as long as the Golan is left untouched by all parties and they share the Dead Sea.

you got any sources for this? smells like fake news to me considering the ongoing civil war situation in yemen
There is more some sites sites reporting on actions by the Houthis. At the very least their taking credit for some things.

Considering the distance between Israel and Yemen as well as the crossing of international borders that would have to happen I am unsure if it is logistically feasible for such things. Maybe some members of the Houthi movement are in Palestine claiming they are doing things for them?

Smells like misrepresentation of actual events; only news I can find is that the Houthi rebels in Yemen launched missiles and drones at Israel, but nothing about about any sort of war declaration.

That's true, but the people are getting antagonized and its not too long since there was an Arab Spring. Tension is in the air. Fumes are everywhere. All that might be needed is a spark.

Yeah, more accurate headline would be 'Houthis declare war on Israel'. They do control Yemen's capital city at the moment, but they aren't the internationally recognized government of Yemen. Only Iran supports and recognizes them (as far as I am aware). They already sent missiles to Israel last week. Basically this is just a way for Iran to take part in the war, one that is MUCH less risky than sending in Hizbullah.

Hizbullah might take a bigger part later, but that would be a higher rung on the ladder of escalation.

houthi rebels sperging at israel is already known, but his post says the actual state of yemen has declared war on israel. that's a very different claim, and one that i can't find any confirmation for, which makes me assume that it is fake because if it was indeed an official declaration of war by a state government it would be all over the news.
