Even if Israel was able to kill 80% of Hamas fighter and 100% of it's equipment/ infrastructure, what's to say that in 15 to 20 years this generation of Palestinian youths don't become the next Hamas terrorists? Hamas has proved resourceful enough to even make rockets from water pipes and common pharmaceutical chemicals notwithstanding the smuggling.

So how is Israel not creating the terrorist of tomorrow with the actions of today?

Doing nothing means Israel keeps eating shit.

There is no peace available to Israel with regards to Gaza because outside powers would always help smuggle in, fund, and equip terrorists, period, end of story, and the typical Gazan is just a human shield for the proxies.

Israel can slow-burn Gaza away, so that's what it is doing, because that is the best option it has with the incentive structure around it.

There's two types of Bongs.

A lot of the working class are actually extremely defiant to any form of government or authority over them, real or perceived, and can get very difficult to deal with as a result. Not even exaggerating, the kind of behaviour you'll see from some white English council estate dwellers would put even the worst basketball Americans to shame.

The more well off people though tend to have a very childlike perception of the government and wider state institutions. Even if they don't like how the country's run they'll tend to think along the lines of 'well the people in charge might be bad, but the police/civil service/NHS are all staffed by "experts" who know what they're doing and want the best for me'. This also leads to them being very meek and willing to back down in the face of state overreach, as their view of the relationship they have with the state is more that of a parent and child than a country and a citizen, it's somehting you see in a lot of Western/Northern Europe.

Funny enough this creates a sort of de facto two tier system, where a lot of the former type actually do get away with posting some very spicy shit online. Yes their accounts will get banned very quickly, but no constable is going to risk getting laid out by Big Kev the welder, who has a Masters in binge drinking and a PHD in recreational violence, because he said something very unflattering about 'the Muzzies' on Facebook. Terrorising some middle management sales person or a junior accountant, who aren't going to immediately resort to violence, and who also have a lot to lose from any interactions with the authorities, now that's something they'll gladly do.

Eh, I'll cut Hamas some tactical slack as those rural areas are not tactically significant enough to build proper bases. For a guerilla force, it's much easier to store munitions and supplies close to personnel for access and PR. No one would care that a hypothetical Hamas base gets bombed, but (stupid) people do care when a hospital/school/mosque hiding munitions gets bombed.

100% unethical of course. It's why the Israelis and the US government are perfectly fine with ignoring the Geneva Conventions this time. No point in abiding by rules when the other side doesn't.
