Bit of fun from the UK where a popular and long established chain store Marks and Spencer has been accused of anti-Palestinianism in an Instragram post. Its founders were Jewish and it has often been accused of supporting Zionism - I neither know nor care how true this is.

So, is this intentional anti-Palestinian imagery, or a playful post using traditional christmas colours?

I've done that, fight injustices, for a long, long time. The reason I'm still able to do so and still free is that I'm fucking sneaky, is that I can juggle multiple sock puppets in different places and for different issues, that I don't let them cross contaminate, that I'm inherently distrusting of a broken system that took a cheese grater to my psyche as a child, and I mostly stuck to anonymously exposing things that assholes wanted to hide.

It is relatively safe to expose things to the public and put up websites for whack-a-mole with bullshit legal letters and takedown notices. Certain refuges for free speech, such as this here antipodean gooseberry farming forum, can make that relatively easy.

In this situation you're talking about now, yes, you can expose things (anonymously, unless you want to be a martyr), and twitter makes it pretty easy to do so. But you also have to organize. You have to try to group people up and feel them out and vet them. That's really, really, really fucking hard.

All the average person can really do is visibly blend in, follow the Moscow rules to a T, use good OPSEC to share covered up things to the world, and wait for critical mass. It takes exceptional people to not just get glowfucked trying to politically organize even if you're literal pacifists.

Shit fucking sucks.

I think this is a "the king picks off pawns and dances around the few good pieces the other side has and drags it out" endgame.

Expelling Gazans is genocide, and bad. But nobody would let Israel.
Doing nothing means Israel keeps eating shit.
Capitulating means Israel keeps eating shit, more shit.

There is no peace available to Israel with regards to Gaza because outside powers would always help smuggle in, fund, and equip terrorists, period, end of story, and the typical Gazan is just a human shield for the proxies.

Israel can slow-burn Gaza away, so that's what it is doing, because that is the best option it has with the incentive structure around it.

Perhaps there is a solution. They let the people stay, they rebuild Gaza...but they rule over the Gazans like the CCP rules over China. That means total surveillance, a social credit score & East German Stasi methods. Also slowly converting them to Judaism and/or consoomers. Destroyed Mosques become shopping Malls. Of course there will always be rebels but there is a reason the CCP is still in power. Perhaps they have to become even worse than the CCP when it comes to surveillance.

Granted, it's nightmarish, evil movie villain solution but how bad is it compared to endless mass death and destruction?

Tl;dr Turn Gazans into consooming Bugmen & keep them under constant surveillance.

israel is too dependent on western (american) approval to get away with stalinism like that.
china gets away with xinjiang because they are the largest population and the second largest economy on the planet, and none of their neighbors can really touch them militarily. israel does not have enough leverage and diplomatic capital to go full stalin on gaza and get away with it, and without constant outside support from burgerland they would get wiped out by their neighbors.

This shit is even worse than the fucking Ukraine war, there is basically zero combat footage aside from IDF bombing the shit out of civilians along with every standing structure in Gaza. I'm increasingly convinced that the entire Hamas military force was deployed and expended on October 7th. Even Hezbollah is more active than Hamas and they were caught flat footed since they had no warning this conflict was about to kick off. Seems like the Mad Max ISIS era in 2015 was truly a golden age for infantry combat footage.

Considering that they've barely taken a block of housing in Gaza City proper there's probably just more and more bombings, artillery and what not. They are just flattening the whole city at this point thinking this will minimize casualties once they actually go in. This is nothing, the battle hasn't even begun.

Oh I know, don't get me wrong. If anything I'm not a trouble-maker kind of guy, I rather just pack up my shit and go live somewhere else where I'm not going to be bothered. I live in a shithole that makes me wish police were at least half of efficient as US police is. I have things to protect myself but even then my instinct would be to make my nest somewhere else if it got to the point where the guy getting arrested is at.

Fight or flight, do either, I don't care. I just dislike people who complain without taking any action. It's like those cunts at work who complain all day about their work but never seem to try to do anything to improve their situation or to find another job even. I don't think there is a single living species that survived this long by just standing there doing nothing in the face of danger.
