I live within walking distance of some famous mom and pop bakery that reached national newspapers. Sweets yes, but also fresh bread daily. This is also in a small town. To give any further detail would be lol dox'd.
Meats? There's also a local deli too that sells exotic meats (Ostrich, Bison, boar) and cheeses too.
Not exactly sure what else can I say or describe.
But I do fully admit the typical Clapistani lacks this.

This thread is the worst. For shame, Josh. I thought you were better than this. Surely, you know someone with an illegal firearm. Or bought illegal drugs. So it is with illegal farm products. Know the right people and the sky's the limit.

My closest friend from church is butchering his summer's herd this weekend. If I pitched in a very small slice of time and money, I could get in on that. I don't. My dad's buddy runs cattle too. The beef in our freezer is from buddy. I cut my beef into steak cuts. Doesn't even matter if it's a garbage piece like brisket, still steak cut. That's my staple. I know folks who run pigs, chicken, eggs, goats, sheep, turkeys, etc.

Bread? Don't even gotta get creative with the law for that one. https://silverhillsbakery.ca/ I will not say my relation to this group, but LOL. Yeah. Very close. Founders are Seventh Day Adventist. Great people.

Cheese? Eh. I buy this Ford Farms "Coastal Cheddar" from Costco which is a UK import. There I am the most plebian.

I'm just a Canadian. The Yanks have more by virtue of density.

But again, the best stuff is all grey market.

Imagine my shock when I found out that the most famous brazil's bread doesn't exist outside brazil. In some places we even call it french bread but it isnt even french. I actually dont like when it is directly out of the oven because it is too crunchy (see the broken croast). I actually like when it is soft after hours of being baked, it gets squishy when you press it.

There is also loaf type of bread with various igredients variations, also from very small makers that produces it in small scale. I love their corn bread.

but the reason people got incensed is because you said specifically ONLY cheddar, american, swiss are available in the US. im sure most people would agree that some random dairy town in france has the best cheese. saying it is the ONLY place with real cheese is what people have a problem with.
Unpopular opinion: English cheese > French cheese
English cheese also > U.S. cheese
But also U.S. cheese is also > French cheese

You know, if Europeon food was so much better, Josh would be eating it right now, instead of trying to convince the world that he isn't just eating Europeon brand goyslop with a different label.
