I can't speak for other places, but I know that a lot of small rural Texas towns (populations of 5,000 or less) have HEBs. I know the ones in the city have bakeries, butchers, and delis and searched the HEB site to see if the ones in small towns have it too and they do. You can get European cheeses (not just brie, gorgonzola, jarlsberg, peccorino, and more!), non-bagged fresh baked bread , and custom cuts of meat. A lot of the cheese are imported from Europe, while others are made in the states. You can even buy it by the wheel.

The fucking geography and scale of the country you estrogen addled half-wit
Damn so why do large countries like Russia and China have affordable passenger rail all throughout the country?
Food trucks cannot be underrated as an American way of serving food, and they are everywhere now. My last company would rent them out for events for our lunch.
Food trucks were only good until white hipsters found out about them. Now they're massively overpriced shit that may or may not taste ok.

Anything rich white people discover turns to shit.

And my state doesn't have enough forest left for wolves.
My province's wolves were extirpated over 100 yrs ago. RIP lil dudes. :semperfidelis:
In Canada, the gray wolf was extirpated in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia between 1870 and 1921, and in Newfoundland around 1911. It vanished from the southern regions of Quebec and Ontario between 1850 and 1900.
There are people that 100 percent swear they've seen or heard Eastern Cougar but no proof:
Cougars were once found all over North America. They still survive in Western Canada but no one knows how many, if any, Eastern Cougars remain. In the past, they were hunted by humans for killing livestock and as trophies. Logging in the eastern forests, human settlement, and habitat disturbance from activities like mining are responsible for the sharp drop in Cougar populations. These big cats need large areas of forest with no human activity to thrive.
Please stop advocating for any public transit in the US. I'm genuinely crippled, you're just some lazy asshole. You don't have our concerns in mind. Stop it.
I mean she IS autistic. Some people with developmental disorders like autism and LDs cannot drive due to visual processing and other neuro issues, even if they seem high functioning.

Holy shit, just made some shitty google research, but shit is G R I M to bullets targets:

There are 8,700 Bakery Cafes businesses in the US as of 2022 (not sure what bakery cafe means, but there are different types of bakeries, this may be just one type of bakery)

The total number of Bakeries in Europe is 492,815. Warsaw is the largest province with a 2% market share (9,966 bakeries ). Second is Barcelona with 6,467 bakeries (1%). Budapest also has a large number of bakeries : 6,246.

Brazil alone have 295.000 bakeries, with 154 new bakeries opening each day by smaller companies.
Source: https://exame.com/negocios/154-nova...-dia-no-brasil-e-mercado-e-dominado-por-meis/

That number seems low. This seems more realistic Number of bakeries 2013-2022 which says in 2022 there were 205k+

If you have friends or family around, they can help drive you places. So long as you’re approachable and trustworthy, most would be fine with it so long as they have time to do so.
No family and friends are typically working or live too far away.

Most people don't have the time or money to be someone's unpaid chauffer.

It's going to get fun when boomers in areas with zero public transit start loosing the ability to drive.

I remember being entranced when I learned that Americans could buy a cheese-like product that came in a spray can. I'm sure it tastes like dogshit, but the idea still seems like a little miracle to me.

I like the NY Times No Knead bread recipe. Much less effort than that Adam Ragusea recipe.

It does, but that's not the point, it's junk food topping for crackers. Basically, think of it as a "solid" sauce instead of cheese.

In all honesty, I forgot NYC. Okay, Cali and NYC are worse than Florida. Still not high bars to cross.
Florida is a hellhole that was never meant for human habitation. Same with the rest of the south east.

At least Cali and NYC don't have the same climate as the inside of Satan's rectum half the year. Probably fewer child rapists too.

Again, it's impressive that these car companies had the foresight to convince Jefferson to purchase all of that territory in order to force people to buy cars
Maybe we deserve to rule the world, much as Jews are said to do.

I am late and retarded but I thought it was pretty funny that while our ooperator was ranting about cheese availability in the US, he was literally scraping the keys of his keyboard from the floor and finished the stream while shaking the keyboard keys in his hands.

He was typing on his keyboard without any available letters visible.

This man is DETERMINED.

Both china and russia have heavily concentrated populations compared to the US, you can see this readily from a map of either's rail system. When you compare these to the population heatmaps it's extremely obvious.

Now compare that to the US

Wait, I can hear you typing, thinking that you're incredibly clever for noticing that the US ALSO has population centers, and how that invalidates my point. Before you hit the reply button, I want you to look at the distribution of the population centers in the US compared to the two previous examples. Yes, The US has concentrations, that's true of any distribution of people, but the US has widely distributed concentrations across its entire landmass rather than clusters of them.

You are a fucking idiot and you should stop having opinions.

I guess that part just doesn't bother me or that isn't an issue near me. They tend to have their own territory so they are spread out enough that none of them get super busy.

Don't forget about dairy products. Even if you're lucky enough to live somewhere close to a real dairy, at best it will be non-homogenous, but never unpasteurized.

You can't buy fresh, unwashed eggs from a store, you have to know someone or drive around the country looking for signs.

When's the last time you saw actual locally grown produce that wasn't grown with pesticides at your local farmers market? All I ever see anymore is national hipster brands pretending to be part of the local community.

I have lived in America (Northern IL mostly, but have been in southern MO as well) all my life, but lived in France for a few months as well (in Paris and visited some southern medieval towns for a week).
Josh, you are merely half right. Yes, we have cheddar fucking everywhere. Even American cheese is arguably just a better version of cheddar (proper from a deli not the shit from kraft). In fact every store has at least an artisan version of cheddar if nothing else. Its comparable to goat cheese in Paris. However, artisan cheese are common even in shithole stores like Aldi. Only places like walmart and dollar stores tend to not stock them. It is usually a mixture of various Italians cheeses, goat cheese, and a grabbag of other random cheeses(which can change month to month). It is also far more common than it used to be, with even stores in the middle of nowhere being stocked with a little section at least. Europe in my experience was very similar. Grocery stores had a variety artisan shit, a shitton of a particular cheese(goat), and a section dedicated to cheapo goyslop cheese product. Often 1:1 with American stores in terms of variety.

Bread is another story. Americans bake their decent bread instead of going to the store. In fact, the average American store has more variety in terms of means to bake bread than anything I had seen in europe. The average store in Paris had maybe some shitty bleached all-purpose flour and some instant yeast to work with. A small town store in America often has at a minimum bleached flours, unbleached flours, wheat flours, bread flours, self rising, and a grabbag of obscure flours. If you are too stupid to bake yourself, or don't live near a bakery that actually makes non-sandwhich bread, you are SOL. Your only alternative is something like Panera Bread, which is the same as a euro franchise bakery. That is changing though, since I keep seeing newer grocery stores implementing full on eurostyle bakeries in them. These tend to produce breads that are a middle ground between the crappy euro-grocery baguettes and an actual bakery though.

Finding good meat is difficult, especially good artisan meat. Butchers exist, but are often hard to find. We have the exact brands of the cheapo artisan shit they sell in europe, just with a mark up. If you want something that isn't italian or a well made summer sausage you are SOL. Then again, europe was similar in that regards unless you went to a specialized deli. Also, I am convinced now that middle of nowhere farmers just ignore the USDA processing regulations when dealing with people in their town. Probably because the people they sell to are completely ignorant of the regulations. I have had family that literally bought straight from the farmer without going to a USDA processing plant.

TL;DR : You are delusional about cheese, bread is baked not bought, and you are the closest in terms of meat.
