And, Julie's family participated in the thread, and they along with weens were the only ones reporting her self harm photos on FB and calling the police about her abuse at Mike's hands. She was suicidal long before the farms found her. Mike was distant with her a few days before she died, which doesn't make it his fault, but that's why she did it, not because of her thread.

Anyway, bit off topic, but the claim that the farms drove her to suicide is insane. She did it herself; she'd been trying for years; if they want someone to blame, look to the family that pawned her off on a non-relative ('grandma' was a foster parent) the second they didn't legally have to shelter her, and failed to provide any care for someone who was too mentally stunted to function on her own.

Anyone who claims it was us needs to fuck off and shine the spotlight on the people who neglected her at best, and abused her at worst.

What's stupider is they keep blaming us for her death when the thread pretty much stopped the moment we found out about her death. Their cynical exploitation of Julie's death is what is so disgusting because they think it's a weakness to use against us to try and bury their own embarrassing threads here.

When you really get down to it, when people act like morons on the internet publicly their actions are open to scrutiny. Just because it is the internet doesn't mean you can't be held accountable for your actions, acting like an idiot and getting a thread here is your own fault, and as an adult you should act accordingly to better yourself in the future. This is not "bullying", this is adults criticizing other adults public behavior on an open forum. You are not forced to come here. You are not forced to willing post your imbecilic behavior on the internet. At any point, people like Vordy and Raven can stop the cycle of their threads if they just stop acting stupid, but they have yet to do so.

Vordrak and Raven are not naive kids/teens who don't know any better. They are adults who know how the world works and know how people react to poor behavior.

So, in short, people need to learn how to grow up and stop acting like foolish children on the Internet.

There's a legal provision here in the form of sections 4A and 5 of the Public Order Act 1986, which makes it an offence (albeit a minor one) to use threatening or abusive words or behaviour within eyeshot or earshot of someone who is likely to be caused harassment, alarm, or distress, or intending to cause them harassment, alarm, or distress.

It's quite controversial because it's often been enforced, shall we say, selectively, i.e. when the powers that be can't come up with anything else and the politically powerful or influential are complaining fit to bust. Use of this section has been criticised such as when Channel 4 did an undercover documentary about preachers in mosques pushing homophobia, anti-semitism, Holocaust denial, and conspiratardedness, it was C4 that was investigated because it was considered likely to undermine community cohesion. Or when crusties in the Occupy movement shouted "FUCK THE POLICE" like the teenaged edgelords they are.

I'm moving out this week. Someone (read: domestic terrorist Samuel Collingwood Smith) is convincing lolcows to attack her directly so I'm just packing up. I was going to hang out until I had cash flow from the new business but that's not an option. By the end of the week I'm going to be living somewhere a few hours away. If they keep harassing her I'll have her file injunctions against them. She has literally zero power and influence over my decisions and ambitions but it's the only hope they have. It'll become abundantly clear in a few months time what little leeway they actually have over this website.
