They're a few years for each charge but I wonder if the jury will just plead guilty because of this recent guilty verdict. I'm also wondering how his parents are going to fare in theirs since they've been accused of helping him build his empire and got rewarded for it. I predict a sentence in the 20-25 year range. Due to this being federal he won’t get a big chunk cut off due to good behavior and other shit, so he will probably serve 15 or so years in federal prison.

I’m not sure how his tune will change at sentencing but if it doesn’t the judge might come down harder. They don’t take kindly to convicted felons not accepting responsibility. Sam needs to get over “I fucked up, just a honest mistake” and admit he is a criminal that committed crimes. If he tries to stick to his good faith hood boy shit the judge might smack him down with 50 years. Be curious to see how obstinate he will be about his innocence after a few months stewing his limited options.

I feel somewhat bad for Caroline. From all reports she was quite brilliant but Sam himself commented she was incredibly insecure. He only put her in charge of Alameda because she would do whatever he wanted. She joined Alameda because she had a crush on him. They only dated for a relatively short period. They had broken up before he made her CEO and had been basically ignoring her. Him suddenly elevating her to Co-CEO was his way of keeping her hopes up and under thumb. It is inline with his sociopathic behavior, she made an ideal pawn that would do anything to please him. She definitely would not stand up to him or push back on his decisions.

She stuck around even after Sam Trabucco bailed to save his own ass, it’s crazy she didn’t do the same. She still stuck around to go down with SBF’s ship.

Another surprising thing I read is that she’s a devout Catholic. Not what I expected, def thought she’d be the strident atheist type. Of course there were the tumblr blogs where she had ramblings about women maintaining very traditional roles and thinking women should compete Chinese concubine style for dominate males.

You had me until the end. SBF's appearance is constantly ridiculed, especially since the courtroom sketches came out. Even the most faithful rendition of SBF's features would make the artist look high that day.

As for quirky genius, I’ve only seen journos try to paint him that way. Its not genius to just lie about what you're doing and exploit trust. Fraud is not a genius innovation, it's just cheating people.
