I wish the media would have paid any attention to what an obvious amphetamine addict Sam was. He was begging the judge to up his Aderall dosage ffs. He paid to have a in-house psychiatrist to give the FTX staff all the Rx speed they wanted. The dude was a straight up tweaker and it was obvious in countless interviews, but I guess having a ADD Dx and Rx for aderall made it verboten to scrutinize.

I've never heard this before. By what process do you "lose those protections"? I don't know where to look it up, but logically it would have to be the pardon agreement itself, right?
Or do you mean it in practical terms; since his criminal liability would no longer be relevant, he would be free to implicate others?

Either way, maybe he could testify against others, but.. would he?

The 5th is the right to avoid self-incrimination, you can't be forced to testify in a way that would cause criminal liability for you. If you're pardoned or given immunity then you're no longer able to self incriminate. You can continue to refuse to answer at that point but that raises new issues, contempt of court, obstruction of justice, stuff like that, so you can very well not-answer yourself into a jail/prison sentence

No they didn't. That trial is in March. Mainly for bribery and bank fraud charges. These are the charges of paying a $40 million bribe to Chinese officials and conspiring to make more than 300 illegal political donations in the U.S.
