@VisceraNexus Munchkin cats make me sad because I do think they look absolutely adorable. It's easy for me to say that brachycephalic dog breeds need to be "fixed" because I personally don't like the way they look and it's no skin off my nose. Munchkins, on the other hand... I would never buy one and I believe it is unethical to breed them, but goddamn do I love their little legs.

Can't do Scottish folds for similar reasons (:_(

If you asked me, I'd say one of the appeals of cats is their athleticism. My old cat had this gallop-like run where he would bob his head up and down, and leap over a fence almost five feet tall. But then, I'm also of the opinion that we shouldn't fuck with nature.
Fat, sedentary people wants fat, sedentary pets. At least I think that is part of the appeal even if no one wants to admit it. It's like the brachycephalic dogs; their deformities leaves them unable to behave like a normal, healthy dog, but that is basically being presented as a big plus since you won't be expected to exercise them properly because of it.

This is precisely it, I think. There are certain people, and not a small number of them, who essentially want a doll or stuffed animal. They want an animal that comes out of a box trained, will not cause them a lot of inconvenience with their needs, and will do what the owner wants when they want it. They do not see pets as having minds and personalities of their own, let alone independent needs, desires, etc. When they are done cuddling them and pretending they're nurturing a living being, they want to put it back on a shelf and pretend it doesn't exist. This is a very real thing that happens.

It's like they want an on-demand "pet", and instead of doing something like pet-sitting, dog-walking, or even volunteering some spare time at an animal rescue or sanctuary, they think they can manage a living, breathing creature that fully depends on them for everything.

Unfortunately I think that's at least part of the reason. I read that conti bulldogs are more energetic and require more exercise than other bulldogs because they can breathe unobstructed and are healthier. Unfortunately that's probably a drawback for people that just want a derpy, lazy couch potato just like them.

Bully breeds are supposed to be athletic and aren't suited to lazy fatass owners that can't properly exercise them, wonder if some of the SMASHED and SLAMMED shit began as an attempt to make bullies for couch potatoes?

That looks like one of those horrifically deformed breeder dogs rescued from a puppy mill

Poor thing :(
I think it actually is a rescue. That pictures been making it’s rounds lately on the stud boards but I’m not sure even where it came from originally.

I’m not sure if these have been posted but this is a thing now. I saw a video of one of them on a stack table with dogs…

Some are actually born with the stubby tails. Personally I agree there's no need for cropping and docking if it isn't for practical and safety reasons. Corgi tails are literally one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

Very cute. Rottweilers also look much sweeter uncropped and undocked:

This is even worse than the dogs potentially due to cats have really delicate joints.

Rotties and bullies look best with tails and uncropped ears. It's sad to see non-working dogs with cropped ears and tails :(

Well bred/trained/socialized bullies and rotties are pretty similar in my experience. Head empty no thoughts. Stocky. Large dog try to climb in lap.

This was always my issue with brachycephalic dog breeds like pugs and such. Any dog that needs a warning that they NEED an air conditioner and can't handle more than a mild walking pace is not living their best life and probably shouldn't be being bred.
Or they should be bred with German shepherds. Make the funniest mix ever while giving the puppies a life daddy pug could never have. Behold the shug.

No idea. Just know shugs are both hilarious and an upgrade.
I mean, you can upgrade pugs by just making them like their original Chinese counterparts that actually have snoots. Vintage pugs are also a little taller. I think a vintage pug would mix well with a shepherd.
