@ButterMyMuffin, as @I call shenanigans suggested, Chantal's "cooking for abused women" was part of her Katimavik experiences/stories. She tells this particular story in Lasagna and Garlic Bread Mukbang (Jan. 22, 2021).

Spoiler: Women's Shelter Stories Comparison

She previously discussed Katimavik in two vlogs from April 2017, though the women's shelter wasn't mentioned. The women's shelter story is part 3 of a Katimavik series she was doing in late 2020/early 2021, and I believe it was the last one in the series. I seem to recall this was around the time people really started calling her out on stealing her story times from media (I believe Part 2 involved a foreign exchange student straight out of 16 Candles; the Katimavik volunteers are Breakfast Club and Friday the 13th Part 4 inter alia).

The women's shelter is the Mattawa Women’s Resource Centre. The details in her telling are broadly consistent.

Chantal is assigned to the Centre based on “aptitude” (I assume bc it was the least physically demanding of the potential assignments).

Her responsibilities were entry-level volunteer tasks: daycare, sorting donations, KP. She did PR for the Centre and for Katimavik by writing a report about the Centre for the local paper, The Mattawa Recorder (I would LOVE to see what that ended up looking like).

She never grasps why the women were at the Centre. She treats it like a summer camp, even referring to the supervisors as “counselors.” She spends her days playing games with them or watching soap opera. She even refers to the entrance (with security camera and no outside doorknob) as “cool” in her two-syllable way.

As always, Chantal is beloved – in this case, because of her cooking. At best she was a prep cook and embellished her role over the years. I suspect she only gushed over the food, because it meant a break from the vegan/vegetarian fare at the Katimavik house. (In the 2017 Katimavik stories she talks about the first meal being a soup made from water, zucchini, and quinoa – is this the source of her infamous “quinoa trauma?”)

Also, found this Katimavik report for 2001-2002 – Chantal Landry is among the volunteers. Lines up with her timeline, including her claims to have participated in the 25th Anniversary activities (discussed in the April 2017 vlogs).

I grew up & still live in New Jersey. Never heard anyone pronounce onions in this manner. It’s not from here. Must be one of those other East Coast regions.

This may be coincidence. After review, I'm not sure they actually list volunteers in the document. I checked names against some of the pictured volunteers and didn't find any matches. The list with Chantal Landry may refer to people who worked with Katimavik in some other way.

I say this because there is a Chantal Landry who was a Project Leader and Coordinator for Katimavik 2003-2006. She may have been operating in some capacity prior.

Also, Chantal DOES mention working at the women's shelter in Mukbang | Canadian Maple BBQ Chicken Meatloaf and True Ghost Story (04/07/2017, Foodie Beauty Site Archive). Nothing additional or surprising RE: Katimavik.

In this vlog, Chantal does mention living with Kim and the stepfather when she was 6. I've always been annoyed by Chantal suggesting she and her mother were alone in the world for years. Kim would have been at home till she was an adult (and had she been kicked out, Chantal would have said). Chantal was 2 or so when Kim graduated high school. Kim was married by the time Chantal was entering elementary school. And I don't believe she has such vivid memories of her toddlerhood. As to whether Jean adopted her, I could see it going either way really.

This is the third, time she has decided to harass camels in the desert. Also with a clickbait title. The camel didn't do anything.
