So I know nothing about Eve, it was popular before I was into online games. My attention isn't grabbed hearing about some company's backstory. Just get to the autistic stuff we don't need every little detail. This is why I usually don't watch GenoSamuel or The Right Opinion because they don't understand what brevity is.

To be honest brevity wouldn't suit the subject matter at all. There is way too much that happened and a lot of it was genuinely interesting. The issue is that Freddit is only taking the most surface level approach and not getting into the absolute batshit mindfuckery that could be possible. Like if he had sent one email to Vince Canfield and let VC guide him through a GS adjacent sane person's history of mid to late EVE the second to fifth hour would have been insanely engaging and interesting. Just finished it, finally. This video'a real problem is that it's 5 good videos instead of 1 great one.

Arguably he could've just split this into 6, 1 hour long videos and released them every week. It's digestable, it's roughly consistent with previous video lengths and on-brand, he would've killed it with video retention time by having repeat customers coming back weekly. Throw that into a playlist on the channel and the demo for sleep listeners would've been kept around. Great for exposure, great for growth, great for money. Each video would've gained excellent views. If, after a year, you decided to bundle it together into one long form video, sell it on DVD with bonus features. People will buy it, where there are fools there are men waiting to empty their wallets.

This is how you make money and capitalize on your hard work. I'm not saying you pissed two years down the drain or anything, Fred. It is a fantastic documentary, I'm just saying....missed opportunities were present here. You're a YouTuber, this train ends for every single person and it's not with a consistent Patreon account. If you can't watch current trends and replicate successful formulas, you are going to be broke by the end of this.

The Goonswarm was extremely important for this as the members were basically a captive audience since their battle plans would require them to arrange meeting up at specific times and then waiting for hours so that they could perform mass action. This caused a lot of the users to congregate in IRC chatrooms, or voice chats using software such as Roger Wilco, Ventrilo, and Teamspeak. During these, at times, hours long periods of hurry up and wait senior members of the goonswarm would proselytize to the junior members what was essentially proto-progressive talking points. Reminds me of how Occupy Wall Street was basically the start of modern day SJW cultism, and you can actually pinpoint the exact moment when that started: When the infamous TV interview with someone who called themselves "Ketchup" represented the movement as a social justice liberation front, people stopped taking the protests seriously soon after(at least in my experience). I know Gamergate dug up a lot of shit on how there is alleged fed and government interference with various gaming and online communities, but honestly that has been known for years now, plus some of these GG types are a bit on the retarded side so I take whatever they say with a grain of salt.
Makes sense SA would be the start of it given how popular and influential it was for it's time, do find it funny that all these "hardcore trolls" would just sit there and listen to some senior members doing the online equivalent of dilation and not raise a fuss about it. As I recall they were laundering tax payer money to people in the goonswarm to specifically influence the members. As to how many of those people were actual agents of the federal government and how many were your typical jobless goon taking the 30 pieces of silver to push their agenda no one will ever know. The US government has been running propaganda programs on the civilian population for ages. The hippy movement originally began as a neoluddite movement to return to a more agrarian and simple lifestyle less dependent upon the industrial and corporate world that advocated for opposition to US isolationism and opposition to the military industrial complex, but was subverted into a hedonistic drug fueled orgy that self sabotaged through destructive habit because of the influence of rock musicians which had ties to various government programs and agencies.

The US Federal government has been an enemy of the American people as far back as my grandparent's time and more than likely long before that. Each progressive generation they turn the heat up a little bit more and the frog barely notices. For what it is worth the center can't hold much longer and the system is doomed to collapse. Unfortunately the American people are a mongrelized and deracinated mess. This has been mentioned in other threads (and probably this one too) and it's not exclusive to Fred's videos, Same thing with Geno Samuel's videos. but I'm really tired of all YouTube comments on videos being nothing but fellating the creator. They're all variants on "This is a masterpiece, truly the most amazing video game documentary of all time. Bravo. All the updoots for you, kind sir." I don't know if it's that they're being curated, or if zoomers cannot communicate without constantly sucking off each other or what, but I miss the days where the comments section was filled with people either being funny or pointing out interesting things in the video. It's all so tiresome.

Kiwibros! I've listened to the first 90 minutes or so and... I've found it interesting! Was I really the autist all along?!

But yeah, have it at 1.25 speed and purely on podcast mode except for the moment he was explaining the scale of the titan since I wanted a visual of that (the diagrams are a joke though, could have used real world examples of "Titan is as big as X planet" with a snapshot of the ship from in game and be done with it), but I have found it pretty entertaining up to the point I stopped in. The whole technical difficulties that CCP had, how the infiltration operation went through and succeeded, it's like a very autistic sci fi opera of sorts, though I assume Freddie is making it all sound very dignified since something tells me that the discussions via forum, irc or whatever would be cringe to the extreme (would love to see some of that). Had fun with the Zombie group exploit that nuked everything in a secure system.
