Well, that's great, maybe you should've started off like this, to begin with. But even you can see that this is not an effective approach as this causes disgruntled users to leak out all over the Farms.

The fact is, that threads created on the premise that 50% of humanity is inherently worthy of scorn and disgust are inherently retarded, and thus any poster supporting that stance is likely pretty retarded as well. Now, you want moderators who can bear existing in those cesspits? Likely, you need to grab people who are at least partially in agreement with the retarded premises of the retarded thread. Thus, you end up with retarded moderation that bans anyone who chooses to mock the retarded premise and people with a neutral/mildly disapproving take eventually are put on edge too. Now, when a thread gets more retarded it attracts more retards from other sites. Then it attracts butthurt retards with the diametrically opposed retarded take. Then retards get more paranoid because anyone else could be a retard agent from another retard side of the retardbate. Thus, the growth of retardation on the website becomes exponential. It's retard hyperinflation in a very literal sense and it's precisely what is happening here.

The argument I am trying to make is that protecting threads on a dumb premise attracts dumb people who cause more problems in the long run. And this applies to anything before this drama too.
