To think this is what KO-OP probably wanted all along, just to win a bunch of meaningless awards, it doesn't really matter if GVH was a commercial flop, or that it was mostly ignored by the very crowd it wanted to pander to.

I mean, lets be real, GVH was meant to be woke shit since the very begging, pretty much the videogame equivalent to an oscar-bait movie.

I was surprised to see this given that IndieCade was all but discredited during GamerGate. It looks like nothing has changed behind the scenes.
We should add a "best indie game" category at the lolcow awards.
candidate every single pretentious game by boasting every single representation mark it ticks, only to give the award to pizza tower, simply because it's fun.

During GamerGate, it was suspected that Fez was given it's awards because if a game that was given grant money makes over a certain amount, they have to pay back the grant plus interest. I can see them trying to prop up a failing game like GVH.

World of Horror won some stuff (according to the Steam promotion) which is a surprise because I know people who seem to genuinely love that game, and from what my friends have told me about the game it seems far from oscar-bait as you can get.

Which is more or less exactly what it was before the IndieCade promotion. Quite possibly it didn't shift a single copy as a result of it. It doesn't help that it's still very much overpriced.

I actually wonder how many copies they sold on PS5

Checked steam charts as well, quite hilarious the whole curve...

IIRC, some of the judges were also invested in Polytron, so they also had incentive to vote for Fez and get their investments back.

You know, part of me would like to see the Gator game getting some recognition from the videogame press, since a character like Olivia is what you could call "inclusion done right", but on the other hand, i think the less attention this gets from the press (since they're mostly woke crowds) the better.

I mean, the woke crowd kind of also hates the disabled, so.
