I really dislike the ability for a titan to fly. Shonen has always had issues with powerscalings and it's a shame AOTs second half didn't manage to land it. In a lot of ways it was handed to them on a silver platter but was kind of underused. For all the talk about how the era of titans were coming to an end they really aren't utilizing technology that much. You had the flying boats and a massive sniper a child shouldn't be able to handle the kickback off. Kabaneri of the iron fortress essentially did the futuristic steam-works world they should've entered better. Mumeis duel shotguns could've also been used by a Gabi and make slightly more sense, with the whole magic bullets and otherworldly steam-technology as an explanation.
Them avoiding using the term genocide when referring to the euthaniza plan is also kind of disgusting. Eren wants to genocide the world cuz they attacked the walls and Zeke wants to genocide Eldia cuz guilt and propaganda for what Eldia did 100 years ago. There really is no proper anti-genocide faction in this. Despite all the talks of "talking things out" by insanely optimistic people.
The world is generally horrible filled with monsters far more evil than the titans and trying so hard to make the pro-euthanasia genociders the good guys makes me groan so hard. Throughout the first half of the last 2 episodes it came across as preaching directly from the author that genocide of Eldia was okay because Eldias population was lesser than the worlds. And unless you live in India or China, that kind of talk is wholly unconvincing.
This is not some shit she keeps hidden deep in her mental closet, she is incredibly open about it especially to Eren. He was just straight up not interested in her and only saw her as a Sister. Him all of a sudden being "in love" is just a BS retcon because that ship was easily the most popular among the fandom and Isayama is a fucking hack fraud.
The reality is that Isayama completely retconned Erens entire character for the sake of plot and using "he saw the PATH's and changed" bullshit as a way to (poorly) patch the gaping hole of bad writing creating an entirely new character and just calling him Eren caused.
He has always struggled with understanding why people love/hate his characters. he genuinely didn't get why Sasha was liked and never intended it. He tried making Eren unlikable by having him genocide the poor innocent people outside the walls, who basically attacked his town, put Eldians in a concentration camp, and acted generally horrible where we see them most of the time, when that didn't work, he tried making Eren pathetic with his Mikasa cry as a last ditch effort.
It seems like he didn't want it to just be morally grey, I found this awesome picture of if death notes creator tried making Light unlikable in the same way, rather than just accept that some people are gonna like Light and other people are gonna like L, depending on their priorities and what they value most.
And when Light sperged out after he was caught, it was set up far better, as his god complex had been given time to grow, although death notes last half suffered through some of the pitfalls AOTs ending did aswell. (Lack of a compelling protagonist/antagonist, depending on how you see Near)
