How will Eren be stopped?

I'm gonna pretend the series ended when they reached the ocean and that was it they were finally free, and who knows where Reiner and the others came from, we don't learn the origins of the titans in the manga either so it fits I think.
At this point, I just treat everything that happened after they reached the Basement/Ocean like I do the second half of Death Note - it didn’t happen, and sounds like a fever dream.

It’s telling even people off site are calling Isayama a fucking hack. You have the usual shills claiming the ending is some masterpiece, but give it a month - tops - and people will have moved on. AoT is a series that started in the right place at the right time, but there was no concrete plan for anything in this series and it shows.

Eren could literally go "fuck paradis, marley FOREVER" and you mfs would still go "actually he was always like this, this really fits his character"
I’d like to remind you that the entirety of his characterization has been “Everything is bad and I’m angry about it.” The only thing Eren ever does in the manga is fly off the handle and do batshit retarded things that only ever work out in his favor because he’s the main character.

He cries. He screams. He mopes. He mad.
That’s literally all there is to his character. And he’s a fucking virgin.

His characterization upto season 3 was "They are oppressing us, I will fight for freedom no matter what."

To claim otherwise is retarded, his character only got retconned from season 4 onwards.

Both of these are true.

Eren's a bloodthirsty idiot who cries, screams, kills a fuckton of people, mopes, and then does it again all in order to achieve his goals (ie; his twisted version of freedom) because he was a born sociopath who was only made worse by his traumatic life, and because he was taught by the people around, and in charge of him that violence is always the answer.

Not to mention Eren's definition of freedom and the outside world is the shit he saw in Armin's storybook, and he got pissed off more that there were people at all even outside the walls than the fact his people were oppressed. The only people Eren even cared about were Armin and Mikasa, and maybe his boot camp buddies at best.

>"I know many of you will disagree with this"

Lol.

In all seriousness, the only reasons the ending gets dunked on so hard here is because of how bad the execution of it was, and how dumb the final arc in general is.
Here’s my question: did it HAVE to be this dumb, the final arc?

They do go over that in the manga. It’s in the books in the basement where they go over Grisha’s backstory and they inject Eldians with serum and throw them in the ocean. (That’s what I remember).

Other than that, I’d still say the ocean is a good place to wrap it up.

Come on the second half of Death Note is worth it just for things like “Sakujo” and everything in the warehouse. Also, a chick burns to death in a church.

I gotta say, Isayama's dick must taste real good, because I've never come across a bigger bunch of crybabies than AOT fans. They really can't tolerate a single criticism against their "peak fiction" anime and chimp out if you dare to suggest it's anything less than a perfect 10/10.

"You're illiterate."
Oh we understood what happened, it was just fucking retarded.

"Were you expecting a happy ending? This was the only outcome."
No one expected a happy ending, we expected one that actually made sense.

"There's nothing wrong with Eren crying, god forbid a shounen protag express emotion."
Eren crying wasn't the problem, it was him having an incel breakdown over not wanting Mikasa to love any other man and the way it came out of fucking nowhere. His character is a mess.

It's sad that AOT ended this way, because honestly, it had such a promising start. Then the political shit came in.

I wonder if the AOT Stans will be as insufferable as TLOU2 and Star Wars Disney Sequel Trilogy Stans, in regards to how they defend their media. Will AOT Stans bring up "You're a Palestinian/Jew, so your opinion doesn't matter" card?

I'd say yes as while there are more normies into AOT, they have major extremes who are really obnoxious whether its people pro-genocide ending or Isayama dickriders,

It's just going to repeat the same crap from the manga (without the copium of the ending being retconned) and most people will move on. AOT will only be relevant if Isayama does any other manga work (like whatever he's doing in March) or just become another gateway anime.

Regardless of anything else really, it probably will still be remembered unlike Game of Thrones which became forgotten about after its last episode dropped as it was a universally despised ending, even among normies.

I said it way earlier in this thread, but I will keep repeating myself. Eren having a breakdown over Mikasa is extra retarded because she literally could not have a wetter pussy for this loser and EVERYONE KNOWS IT!!!

This is not some shit she keeps hidden deep in her mental closet, she is incredibly open about it especially to Eren. He was just straight up not interested in her and only saw her as a Sister. Him all of a sudden being "in love" is just a BS retcon because that ship was easily the most popular among the fandom and Isayama is a fucking hack fraud.

The reality is that Isayama completely retconned Erens entire character for the sake of plot and using "he saw the PATH's and changed" bullshit as a way to (poorly) patch the gaping hole of bad writing creating an entirely new character and just calling him Eren caused.

I really dislike the ability for a titan to fly. Shonen has always had issues with powerscalings and it's a shame AOTs second half didn't manage to land it. In a lot of ways it was handed to them on a silver platter but was kind of underused. For all the talk about how the era of titans were coming to an end they really aren't utilizing technology that much. You had the flying boats and a massive sniper a child shouldn't be able to handle the kickback off. Kabaneri of the iron fortress essentially did the futuristic steam-works world they should've entered better. Mumeis duel shotguns could've also been used by a Gabi and make slightly more sense, with the whole magic bullets and otherworldly steam-technology as an explanation.

Them avoiding using the term genocide when referring to the euthaniza plan is also kind of disgusting. Eren wants to genocide the world cuz they attacked the walls and Zeke wants to genocide Eldia cuz guilt and propaganda for what Eldia did 100 years ago. There really is no proper anti-genocide faction in this. Despite all the talks of "talking things out" by insanely optimistic people.

The world is generally horrible filled with monsters far more evil than the titans and trying so hard to make the pro-euthanasia genociders the good guys makes me groan so hard. Throughout the first half of the last 2 episodes it came across as preaching directly from the author that genocide of Eldia was okay because Eldias population was lesser than the worlds. And unless you live in India or China, that kind of talk is wholly unconvincing.

He has always struggled with understanding why people love/hate his characters. he genuinely didn't get why Sasha was liked and never intended it. He tried making Eren unlikable by having him genocide the poor innocent people outside the walls, who basically attacked his town, put Eldians in a concentration camp, and acted generally horrible where we see them most of the time, when that didn't work, he tried making Eren pathetic with his Mikasa cry as a last ditch effort.

It seems like he didn't want it to just be morally grey, I found this awesome picture of if death notes creator tried making Light unlikable in the same way, rather than just accept that some people are gonna like Light and other people are gonna like L, depending on their priorities and what they value most.

And when Light sperged out after he was caught, it was set up far better, as his god complex had been given time to grow, although death notes last half suffered through some of the pitfalls AOTs ending did aswell. (Lack of a compelling protagonist/antagonist, depending on how you see Near)

I think the second half of deathnote suffers from the same issues post timeskip aot suffers from, there's not really a cohesive throughline and a lot of the cat and mouse intrigue is just dropped resulting in the whole thing feeling like a pale immitation.

If light was caught he would realistically throw a shitfit, but the issue with deathnote part 2 is that it makes 0 sense for him to get caught in the first place and the way he was caught is retarded.

By contrast, eren is literally an unstoppable god, him being caught makes no sense AND him breaking after being caught makes no sense.

They also made the buildings more futuristic. Compare it to the manga where Paradis looks more modern-dayish.

They made the buildings futuristic, but forgot to make the weapons futuristic too and in the post apocalyptic shot the buildings are still modern lmao.

You can tell this was a last minute change.
