and either of us would be shot or eliminated quickly because there is no god damned way either side of the government would put up with that sort of thing.
Problem isn't the government, and it doesn't really have two sides.

It's the groups that fund government actors and give them cushy retirement plans that are the problem, and, well it's not a problem that's solvable as the corporate/NGO/whatever "special interest groups" are so embedded within the system that to remove them from it in an effective manner would lead to a result similar to collapse from a number of different causes.

I really can't help but shake the feeling that most people are only aware of, or if they are, still only cognitively processing the first layer or two of the rotten onion that is the problem of our civilizational decay. Every sitting member of congress, every federal judge, every AG in the country, and the upper echelons of every three-letter agency could be simultaneously removed tomorrow and it wouldn't solve anything. For more reasons, even, than the special interest groups problem but it is a massive factor in why things just don't change.

Democrat moves to force vote on censuring Florida Republican for comments about Palestinians

Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.) moved to force a vote on censuring Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) for comments that Jacobs described as “incredibly dangerous and dehumanizing” toward Palestinians living in Gaza.

Jacobs filed her censure measure as a privileged resolution Monday, which forces the chamber to take action within two legislative days. House leadership can either motion to table the resolution or bring it to the floor for a vote.

Jacobs accused Mast of “conflating innocent Palestinian civilians with Hamas” in impassioned remarks on the House floor when moving to file her privileged resolution. She listed a series of instances where she believes Mast has failed to differentiate Palestinian civilians from the militant group Hamas, which launched its deadly attack on Israel last month.

She said Mast “has repeatedly made inflammatory statements regarding innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza who are in harm’s way through no fault of their own as a result of horrific terrorist attacks conducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023,” she said while introducing her resolution.”

She added that Mast’s “refusal to distinguish innocent Palestinians from Hamas terrorists is false, misleading, dehumanizing, dangerous and unbecoming of a member of Congress.”

Mast is an adamant supporter of Israel and previously wore his Israeli military uniform on Capitol Hill last month. In a House floor speech last week that Jacobs cited in her resolution, he said “there are very few innocent Palestinian citizens.”

“I would encourage the other side to not so lightly throw around the idea of innocent Palestinian civilians, as frequently said,” Mast said. “I don’t think we would so lightly throw around the term ‘innocent Nazi civilians’ during World War II.”

The GOP congressman previously served as a volunteer with the Israel Defense Forces.

Jacobs is just the latest lawmaker to file a privileged resolution to censure a colleague in the House. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) resolution to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) last week ultimately failed on the House floor, but she introduced Monday a new privileged resolution to censure the Michigan Democrat.

Rep. Rich McCormick (R-Ga.) also filed a competing privileged resolution to censure Tlaib on Monday. Both Georgia Republicans are moving to censure Tlaib over her statements criticizing Israel after Hamas attacked the nation last month.

Jacobs also warned that Mast’s statements come as Islamaphobic incidents are on the rise in the U.S.

“Rep. Brian Mast’s comments are incredibly dangerous and dehumanizing as we continue to push for humanitarian aid to reach Palestinians in harm’s way in Gaza and as Islamophobic hate crimes rise,” she said in a statement.

“The United States stands for the rule of law both here at home and abroad — and these comments denigrate those values and cause real, tangible harm. That’s why I moved to censure Rep. Brian Mast to condemn this rhetoric and ensure this hate, fear, and violence stops here,” she said.

Mast called the move to censure him “idiotic” in comments to reporters Monday. He also defended his comments comparing Palestinian civilians to Nazis on the House floor.

“I would challenge anybody [to] find me a better single word that you could use to describe the Palestinian relationship to Jews than Nazi,” he told reporters. “I would say Nazi is the singular word that you could use to describe how they feel about Jews.”

“I think anybody that says it’s just Hamas is lying. And they know they’re lying,” he added.

The Hill has reached out to Mast’s office for comment.

What is it with these creepy democrats taking naked photos of themselves? If you want to track progress that's fine but you can wear your shorts when taking photos because I doubt you guys are actually working your thighs.

Please Trump, call out the "very creepy, very scary naked photos this corrupt judge posts. I won't allow someone like this at my Scottish castle, this man probably flew on Epstein's plane"

I do not think Jacobs understands the situation or how terrorist organizations operate.
And Mast gave the retort that I was thinking of.
“I would encourage the other side to not so lightly throw around the idea of innocent Palestinian civilians, as frequently said,” Mast said. “I don’t think we would so lightly throw around the term ‘innocent Nazi civilians’ during World War II.”

The ugly truth of realpolitik is that as soon as you start talking about this type of shit you are besieged by bad and worse options. People seem to forget that one of the reasons the civil war was so bad was that because of differing loyalties a lot of the shit that should have been followed to prevent war from even happening was thrown out the window in the name of feels. The result was hundreds of thousands of American dead and to this day retards freely assert all that blood was spilled because a bunch of mean evil racist rednecks (who were mostly too poor to even afford slaves btw) really liked enslaving blacks.

Or "innocent Russian civilians" during this war, apparently.

Funny, how the headline makes it seem like the US and NATO just went "Welp, fuck that treaty!" when Russia has been violating it literally before the ink dried, officially withdrew in 2007, and will be completely out on Tuesday.

But nope, the US and NATO are the ones who are leaving it and are bad.

Journoscum deserve every bad thing that happens to them.

I remember then making hay of Trump pulling us out of one of those nuclear treaties from the 80's precisely because Russia had been caught cheating on it numerous times. They buried the lede on the part where NATO's chief agreed with Orange Man's decision.

Mast should have been censured for wearing the uniform of a foreign government in the house. Also,

“I would encourage the other side to not so lightly throw around the idea of innocent Palestinian civilians, as frequently said,” Mast said. “I don’t think we would so lightly throw around the term ‘innocent Nazi civilians’ during World War II.”

Fuck this kike cunt.

For everyone who might want to immediately understand the context, Jacobs represents suburban San Diego. If she lived a few miles up the coast there's no way this stunt would play well with the local electorate in Orange County.

This is awesome.

He's not wrong. I'd wager the vast majority of Palestinians, either voluntarily or through fear, support the idea of wiping out the Jews.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Losing Friends, Says Former Republican Ally

Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is beginning to alienate herself within the Republican Party following recent attacks against her colleagues, says Florida Representative Byron Donalds.

Donalds, who is a part of the House Freedom Caucus, which Greene was booted from over the summer, answered "yeah" when asked by The Daily Beast if he thinks Greene is starting to lose friends in the GOP conference.

"Is she concerned about that? I don't think so," the Republican said. "The airing of grievances by Twitter, or by X, is just not productive. When you do it through social media, it just doesn't work."

Newsweek reached out to Greene via email for comment.

Previously, Greene could rely on her allyship with former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and closeness to former President Donald Trump to maintain influence in the House. However, following Greene getting removed from the Freedom Caucus, McCarthy's ousting on October 4, and her continued attacks on her fellow House Republicans, it is suggested the MAGA congresswoman is not the dominant force she used to be.

The apparent dwindling of Greene's influence in the GOP could be seen after 23 House Republicans sided with Democrats to reject a resolution Greene introduced to censure Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib over her comments about Israel amid its war with Hamas.

On November 2, Greene lashed out at House Republicans, including "CNN wannabe Ken Buck and vaping groping Lauren Boebert"—another Republican whose relationship with Greene has become increasingly fractured—while accusing Texas Representative Chip Roy of voting with the Democrats to "protect Terrorist Tlaib."

Greene continued her fight with Roy on social media, calling him Colonel Sanders—an apparent reference to his facial hair resembling that of the KFC founder—after the congressman suggested she should "go chase so-called Jewish space lasers," a reference to an antisemitic conspiracy theory Greene previously shared on Facebook.

Donalds told The Daily Beast he spoke privately with Roy and Boebert after Greene's social media attacks but not to Greene herself.

"Honestly, I joked with [Roy] and said, 'Hey man, let me get a three-piece,'" Donalds said.

Wisconsin's Glenn Grothman, who was also one of the House Republicans who voted against Greene's resolution to censure Tlaib, told the outlet that he still considers himself Greene's friend despite her speaking out against his vote.

"I can't speak for the rest of Congress, but she's got at least one," Grothman told The Daily Beast.
