Finally done watching the whole thing. Needed a couple of days to get through it since I was using it as background noise while working.

It's actually pretty decent as an intro video for people who are curious about EVE Online but can't make heads or tails out of it. And yes, a six-hour video is just an "intro" for that fucking game. Fred left out a ton of shit, including the Mittani getting ousted, fun shit with minor factions like my old pals in Bombers Bar (R&K getting a shout out was fun) and the industrial levels of trolling and ransoming (and the couple scandals coming out of it), but the broad strokes view shows just how large the scale of that game truly was. It's basically dead now, but at least it means the video isn't likely to end up outdated in a couple of years like most "gaming history" videos on MMORPGs do.

Overall, a good send-off for the channel if he decides to pack it in and go uwu anime boi full time. His streaming is still about as entertaining as watching paint dry, though.

In all seriousness, I had never gotten into his Down the Rabbit Hole videos. The Wangz video is his magna opus. All his other ones fall flat, in my opinion. This man has let DSP, fucking DarksydeDave watch his own 'documentary' about him and allowed him to make 'corrections' and money off of it because he gave him permission because they were in the DM'S together once. The worst part is that the high rollers of vtubers tend to have a second line of work to fall back on if/when they graduate (quit) their idol avatars. I don't think Fred has the mental fortitude to stomach more DTRH if he waffled nearly 3 years on fucking EVE online. Compare Astraline's Fredrik Knudsen to Hololive's Calliope Mori, Fred may have millions of views on his documentaries but Calliope has TWO different contracts and produces music under both aliases, she regularly does collaboration streams with her fellow Hololive talents and even does collabs with other company vtubers, that girl has so many irons in the fire it's enough to make your head spin. I'm 99% certain Calli is also in her late 20s/early 30s.
Once twink death sets in for Fred he's done for. I don't think Astraline will get big enough to allow Fred to save money for his retirement.
Content creators all face the same issue at the end of the day and that is when their content grows stale and the viewers disappear, they are left with nothing but some editing skills and some of them won't even have that because they were live streamers.

I can't wait to see where Fred ends up if he quits DTRH and focuses entirely on his "streaming". The fujos are going to be happy.

I love video games, I will always love video games, but seeing people like this interested in the same general hobby I am makes me not want to do it anymore. I know that sounds dumb as hell, but its the first thought that popped in my head when I started cringing at the uwu shit - "I don't want to have something in common with these kinds of people".

Views doesn’t make it good. A lot of shit goes viral, but it doesn’t mean it’s good. Since most of his shit is “lost media” or “true crime” shit, it’s going to get a lot of views. Some people just need to accept constructive criticism.

I think it's actually fujos and trannies, or maybe mainly trannies. At the F1nnster thread, when I went through his NSFW subreddit, I was shocked by how many women there seemed to be, judging by the usernames and avatars, then it hit me that they were all probably trannies. So now, while I used to think the femboy/twink obsession was from mostly fags/chasers/female hentai readers, I think it's mostly troons.
