Why are you so focused on comparing these two conditions? I can trust a schizo not to murder people if he's never shown signs of being violent, and I wouldn't be against killing him the moment he did. The same cannot be said for pedos. There have been countless people out there who have taken some kind of vow of chastity or otherwise rejected their sexuality (like a gay man in a place where being gay gets you killed), who have done this successfully. that's why you're supposed to watch them and keep them away from kids so they aren't tempted. You keep drug addicts on watch and away from their drug of choice, you keep schizos on medication and watch out for a change in their behavior, how is a pedophile different from any of this? I really just want to know what you think is physically, psychologically unique to pedophiles that completely throws all established understanding of the human mind out the window. I'm not gloating, I'm just pointing out that you can't seem to argue with it. If I was making an ass of myself, especially about something important, I'd really appreciate someone pointing out to me how and why I was wrong about it. Don't you? There's nothing to gloat about, I'm not proud about it, I don't like talking about pedophiles or even thinking about them if I can help it, but I feel like if there's even a chance of getting through to someone, that's probably worth it. Where would we be as a species if everyone just continued to bury their heads in the sand and refused to listen to anyone about anything, ever? We'd still be living in caves. If you really believed that, you wouldn't have bothered with making a reply to me and would have just let it go. No one likes a pedophile, even if they really do hate themselves and would never do anything wrong. I'm not defending pedophiles. I'm saying you either hate everyone with a disorder/illness/genetic marker that might predispose them to committing crime and think that people are guilty by virtue of being a risk factor, or you realize that thoughts don't equate to action and that there are people given unfortunate hands in this world that need help or at least to be monitored. There's no in between - pedophiles are not singularly unique in the entire universe, nor do they go against the entirety of what we understand about human beings and the brain when literally nothing else does. This is "vaccines, flouride, and cellphone towers are mind controlling everyone and doctors are fake" levels of conspiratorial thought processing. "Pedophile" is not a D&D class that you multiclass into later, it's not cartoon supervillain tier "haha I want to be evil today - I know, I'll rape kids!", it's some sort of disease or disorder; whether they're born like that or it develops later can be argued, but the fact that it's not their fault really can't be. Their actions are their own and everyone is responsible for their actions, diseased brain or not, but a society that executes people based on how they were born rather than what they've chosen to do sounds like a complete hellscape. It's not up for debate that there are pedophiles who never "act", and that there are non-pedophiles who have offended against children simply because the opportunity presented itself. This shit isn't black and white, I don't care how hateful your boner is about it; if what you want is children to be safe from sex pest freaks, this isn't how you get there. If what you want is to just be mad at the Internet, I guess go ahead, but know that your energy would be much better spent doing something productive with your life.
