So Kuma allowed the government to turn him into a cyborg in exchange for Vegapunk using Lost Tech to save Bonney?

I'm suddenly compelled to root for Kuma's suicide run on Mariejois and hope that he has one last Paw-Paw pocket nuke stored up for maximum K-D ratio.

Realistically, he'll probably end up butchered by Saint Garling.

Look. Oda nuked Pell and gave him a death and mourning scene and he was fine.

So for characters that were in universe stated to be monsters - Big Mom had to get Oda to invent rules about Laws Awakening only to break them 5 seconds later and Kaido was fighting evenly with One Piece Jesus - I just don’t buy a volcano is enough. Especially when Luffy does not kill.

If people die we get told in no uncertain terms. And even then bringing back Acd was not out of possibility.

Although to be fair it was Wano and Oda had to confirm Orochi was dead in an SBS, so who knows?

Kaido’s dream was to fight and die to Joy Boy and it was clear he did everything to that end and Luffy really did not seem to hate him. So he might of got his wish. But again, i feel Oda would confirm that.

I think he’s going to be back honestly to whip Momo into shape.

People in universe don’t seem sure and Nami has Big Mom’s card. There’s an easy way to confirm this and he hasn’t taken it. Meaning he’s either forgot and no one has asked yet or he has plans.

And his remarks regarding the Dragon Fruit seem to suggest he has plans…

Honestly had Canon is Kaido is just chilling in a Lava Bath content with life

Pretty much, OP operates on "and only Ace really died" logic, if I don't see a corpse, a tombstone and an active confirmation by 5 different characters that don't know each other saying that yes, Kaido and Big Mom are indeed dead, then they ain't dead and are having the most epic of hatefuck in a volcano.

I put this over in the Anime Manga Thread, but I think Bonnie is his actual daughter and it’s an Ace’s mother situation except Buccaneer’s just have long pregnancies. Kuma will find out in the flashback when Vegapunk is treating her and it’s the one moment of happiness he has before agreeing to be turned into a machine. My hopium is that Kuma tricked everyone this way, even the Celestial Dragons who needed a heir for internal politics under the assumption that Bonny was one.

The "alternate future" is an interesting idea, if that's actually confirmed that's what her fruit does.

It's funny what this is doing to us: We want to believe so hard that Bonney is Kuma's biological child that the thought of her being a rape baby is too heinous to conceptualize. Never mind that Celestial Dragons are so despised because of how despicable they are that we don't even want to believe one of the named characters is a CD rape baby. The mental gymnastics here is dizzying.

I think you can have your cake and eat it to with the assumption that Bonny is a rapebaby by characters within the story, but actually we get another Two year pregnancy like Ace.

Her fruit can age things. She’s shown to be able to age people up and down, Distorted future is her aging someone/herself up. She can either be a granny or a brick shithouse from what we’ve seen.
I just want the rape baby to be a red herring, it make Kuma’s fate a little bittersweet rather than just bitter.

1098 was the last chapter that we're all discussing. If that was half a chapter I'm impressed.

I also forgot to mention, one of the panels was Bonney in the baby cage after they recommended it to keep her safe from Kuma rolling over in his sleep.

Eh i think that's an arbitrary definition of manhood.

Afterall Bonney herself acknowledges Kuma as her father.

Kuma isn't a lesser man... he's the better man.

I think I can help..mitigate this a bit.

Okay, so Imu and the Celestial Dragons have -SOMETHING- that lets them keep their grip on the world, and it is not the thing Imu used to wipe out Lulusia because they were testing something Vegapunk was working on.

Whatever Imu has over the world, can be negated or overthrown by whatever is on Laugh Tale. Imu is so afraid of what is there they not only hid the existence of the Island, They nudged Morgan into changing Gol's name to hide the D. (they wanted this with Luffy to) and were willing to Risk (and paid a non zero price) a Fight with Whitebeard to keep the person most likely to be Gol's heir from being able to claim One Piece.

Whatever is there absolutely has to be Dangerous to Imu and the Dragons...and There were two people outside of the Roger Pirates that I am fairly convinced that Gol told.

Whitebeard and Garp.

Garp wasn't just training Luffy and Ace to be "Marines" once they were strong enough..Garp was gonna lead a military coup. Now that plan has gone to absolute shit, but I think Garp was gonna sit Koby down at some point and explain things to him before he died so that Koby could carry that Torch.
