If I'm not mistaken both his brothers completed university, with Dave being the only one to flunk out of college, twice.
What Dave never explains is why he is so fucking bitter about his siblings and his father's expenditure on them. He has obviously gotten plenty of money from his parents for two flunked attempts at college, as well as all his guitars, none of which he is likely to have purchased himself.
He doesn't seem to understand that him complaining about his siblings and his parent's giving them money something like 20 years ago when he is almost 40 makes him looked extremely pathetic and very much like a petty, whiny bitch.

This might be a good point, only:
1. Dave is a big fat bald failure who doesn’t do anything ever, so he is in no position to laugh at anyone. Hey Fatty, what happened to your “one-woman show?”
2. He argues that Jeff is not a success because he had money from their dad, then explains that actually that money didn’t help at all.
3. He’s laughing bitterly at Jeff getting money from their dad, despite the fact that he has been trying to do exactly the same thing for years.
Mom and Dad are violent narcissists, yet they’re popular and respected. One brother is useless at business, yet successful. Another is a corrupt cop and an adulterer, yet he’s also a happily married pillar of the community. Meanwhile, generous, creative, popular Danielle is for some reason unable to even hold a job down. Funny how the world goes.
