I’m enjoying how surprised males are that women care so much about abortion. The rights of males to have children as much or as often as they like is not up for debate, but a woman’s right over her own body is. Abortion has always existed and will continue to exist in spite of any “limit” (ban) dictated by law. I do think some conservative men are correct when they talk about men needing to be more responsible for the children they create and the government, if it wants to ban abortion, to be more generous to struggling families, particularly single mothers. But all of this is unlikely to happen — moids won’t take responsibility as parents and the government certainly isn’t interested in giving more financial assistance to women and children because Shaniqua might “take advantage” of her food stamps to buy some soda or Fudge Rounds for the kids.
In a way, I’m glad Roe v. Wade was overturned. I have been warning all the women I knew it was going to happen (and they want to come for contraception and no-fault divorce next, by the way), but I think most women never thought it would actually happen, or that they didn’t have to worry about it because it didn’t apply to them. But it can happen to anyone, any family. A close member of my family had to have a late-term abortion because of serious fetal abnormalities. Had the baby lived to be born, it would have had no quality of life and, to be frank, my family did not have the financial resources to care for a severely disabled child. We wanted the baby but we also had to be realistic and compassionate. It wasn’t about us — it was about the baby and its quality of life. I think more women are finally learning this lesson: that once our rights over our own bodies go away, it’s not a long way to allowing moids more legal control over our lives. How many moids do you know that you would trust to make decisions for you over your finances? Your ability to work or attend school? Just look at women in the developing world. Western moids all hate Muslims, but that’s also the world they want - where women have almost no autonomy and are completely under male authority. That, to them, is a based world as long as it’s a Christian one.
