Who the fuck wants to go back to Vice City without the neon lights or the memorable characters? This was a stupid idea from the start, you're not even going to get memberberries anymore.
This might have been a decent title to release in 2015-16 and 2017 at the latest, now it's only going to show how little the franchise changed in 10 years.
It's still shocking to me that Definitive Edition is the only way to legally play the older titles without owning a boxed PC or console set. R* might take the cake for the worst way a company can treat it's older titles, along with Blizzard who made it impossible to play W3 and D2 even if you owned them after the demakes

As far as the GTA VI soundtrack goes, it would actually be a real disappointment if they don’t add a vaporwave radio station in game. It needs to be in the same vein as this:

I'm still pissed that Cyberpunk 2077 didn't have a vaporwave radio.

I think that at the very least GTA 6 will have a fun sandbox, story will probably suck ass and have shitty references to cringe leftoid politics, and will probably feature Not-Trump and Not-Proud Boys being a enemy who is both incompetent but also a threat to all of America and must be stopped. The game will probably have some BLM shit in it and Cops will probably be overtly racist, and all the other awful ideas we can think of, but at least running over pedestrians in a car will be fun.
They said that punching down was bad, so expect the worst of current year, especially now that the old team have left Rockstar.

if it is a bonnie and clyde type of deal i might buy it on discount, if it is STROOOOOOONG WOMAAAAAAAAAAAAN and some schmuck hard fucking pass

Rockstar can also go real cheap with modern indie music for most of the radio stations and maybe have one 80's station that just plays Synthwave for the aesthetic.
They could do a radio station dedicating to playing Eurobeat

Bonnie and Clyde would be a really good premise for a co-op GTA clone.

What is the point in even having a contemporary Miami game?
All GTA games should just be period pieces.

GTA III was contemporary. As was IV. They're all period pieces if you wait long enough.
Never had much interest in trying GTA IV.

90s Los Angeles is the best Los Angeles.
80s Miami is the best Miami. You'd think that would have picked that, cocaine cowboys era and all.
70s New York was the gritty one, right? I don't really remember.

Work with the best setting you have available. Personally I'd really like 70s San Francisco (San Fierro).

They already kinda did 70s NYC with The Warriors. 80s NYC would be kinda interesting, as you had stuff like celebrity gangsters like Gotti, the crack epidemic, Wall Street "greed is good", the rise of hip-hop culture, etc.

Modern day Miami really does nothing for me as a setting.

Whenever famous seedy NYC was. Since you mentioned crack, that's probably it.
2010s Detroit would have also been a great setting (I like the idea of vast abandoned neighborhoods, especially if it had RDR2-like ambushes and stuff... imagine having both crowded downtown AND nature and deer and raccoons reclaiming ghettos), and I maintain Texas done like San Andreas would have been amazing.

its social commentary will now be cringe instead of hilarious
One of the developers said they're going to cut back on the satire, because they're afraid of both political sides attacking them. I mentioned it before on here, but I don't think a Grand Theft Auto is possible to make nowadays. There's a reason why GTA 5 was mostly about bank heists and glowies, because there's not much "unique" crime wise about the post-2013 world.

There's school shootings and le haXX0ring I guess, but who would want that in a gta game?

Sad.

The NPR and Rush Limbaugh parody radio stations in GTA 4 had me absolutely dying back in the day. Probably the funniest videogame ever made imo. Just incredible, so many games try to be fuñny and it almost never works, but gta nailed it again and again, with 4 being the peak imo. It was like South Park in its humor to, just lambasting fucking everyone. No punches pulled.

alright take your pick for the music the radio stations will play in 6. ive a feeling theres gonna be a modern latin pop station playing stuff by the j balvin and the bad bunny so ive accepted this fate but what else might they get playing on there?

Given how awful the radio already was in V, I have a pretty good idea:
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #1
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #2
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #3
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #4
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #5
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #6
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #7
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #8
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #9
  • Boring Hip-Hop station #10
  • Latinx Radio that’s half random pop songs and half unlistenable trash
  • Generic Pop Station that plays Taylor Swift
  • A halfassed country station (country music is for chuds) where there’s only like ten tracks and one of them is Old Town Road while the other is something from Florida Georgia Line
  • An even more halfassed electronic radio station that has only five tracks and all of them are horrible
  • An indie station that’s effectively the same as the pop station but with one or two slightly more obscure artists
  • A rock station that has barely any actual rock music and is just random songs from the 80s that have guitars in them
  • An awful talk radio station that lacks any humor
  • Another horrible talk radio station that consists of NotLaszlow being a Nazi incel Chud only to be educated by his brilliant female cohost
  • A synthwave radio station

Lazlow left some time ago; I hope SOME of his writing skill is in the next GTA. It's certainly possible since this GTA was in development for God knows how long.

What the fuck gave you that idea? The first GTA was conetmporary, III was contemporary, IV was contemporary, V was contemporary. Hell, even Chinatown Wars was contemporary.

GTA 2 was the only exception where it was set in the future but no one ever bitches about how that's not a real GTA because it's fictional, and not contemporary/period piece.

The only "period piece" games from the series were Vice City, San Andreas, Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories, with LCS being a prequel to III. Well I guess you can add GTA London to that too, but that was just a mission pack for the first GTA.

GTA was never a series that was just period pieces and I have no idea what made you think that way. The period piece games were a brief episode between 2002 and 2006.

Then again:
Never had much interest in trying GTA IV.
All of your opinions on GTA are worthless based on that fact alone. If you haven't ever played IV and formed a personal opinion of it through that, your opinions mean jack shit.

Yeah this thread already talked about this.

Also, whoever posted that is a retard as much as IGN is. R* has NEVER said anything about "GTA VI" or "GTA 6". This keeps being peddled by journalists and the GTA community which is known for spreading rumors or even outright fabrications and lies as cold hard truth.

R* specifically talks only about "the next GTA game", so it might as well be a mobile game or a game that's titled something else.

I really fucking hope that R* will announce something that's not called "GTA 6" or "GTA VI" so that every single retard that kept yapping about it will get flabbergasted by the fact that it's not called that. Much like Valve worked on a new Half-Life game that wasn't called Half-Life 3 and Valve never said it was gonna be that but people kept talking about Half-Life 3 anyway. And it was a VR only game.

I want this so I can laugh, but deep down I know this is going to be a monkeys paw wish and it will probably just be "Grand Theft Auto" and the rumors of Rockstar wanting to make a blanket platform similar to what (some in) Activision were trying to do with Call of Duty will be true.
