He uploaded a video of puff and now Im not sure if that's a new enclosure. He must have just cleaned the floor really well, but I don tknow, it almost looks bigger. Maybe I just dont care enough to remember all the details about puffs case.

Not a BD expert (but I want one so I’ve been researching)

1. reptile carpet harbors bacteria, no beuno.
2. His tail looks similar to MBD tails.
3. I’m sure he is neglected at some degree, but this is a potato photo, so fat pads aren’t easy to see and hydration can’t be determined. But yeah. He’s isn’t even a good pet owner in the scheme of things.

He’s an older dragon so needs more salad vs bugs. Which I doubt he is getting.

@Goatchoker I just showed this to my better 3/4's who's a Vet with admittedly only basic 1st year education with Herpitilogical skill's He's not bad but he's not good either he might be a little dry but nothing alarming it could be him it could be the camera, the food looks a little aged but again that could be down to a number of things but suspects its down to Josh being lazy, He's been a little tough handleing Puff in other videos so she suspects he's not happy about being handled and looks a little wary of Josh but not in a overly hostile manner so he isn't outright being physically abused.

I think that he's getting some help with or paying attention to advice about Puff (ideally both) than he was getting in the early days, he really shouldn't be responsible for anything living including himself but he is doing slightly better than before and Puff's not in an ideal situation he's not in a bad one either but it's not ideal like most first time reptile keepers it's an average state he's kept in.

Edit for context - My Fiancee is a Large Animal Vet, a small animal to her is a Dog not a mouse or hamster and certainly not exotics, and if she ever gets more than basic questions about them it's always tinged with Check with this guy and passess out the number of a coworkers who's hobby is exotic pets and would do his job for free if he could afford it.

He looks very lethargic which happens when reptiles aren't warm enough. Puff is cramped up into the corner to get as close to the lamp as he can get and it still doesn't seem to be enough. I wouldn't be surprised if that's just a normal ass desk lamp that Cobes thinks will provide enough heat and I know for damn sure he doesn't check the temperature of the enclosure.

He either:

Filled it totally to the top with liquid, leaving no headspace for the yeast, and once the yeast started working, it bubbled up through the airlock

OR

Decided, "more yeast means more alcohol", added double the yeast, and it bubbled up way higher than normal

OR

As someone else said, all his damn shaking got liquid in the airlock.

Regardless of how it happened he needs to either A: remove some fluid/pour the liquid into a bigger container. OR B, remove the lid, cover the top in some cheese cloth to keep bugs and dust from getting in and let it "open air ferment" for 2 days If your brew is causing this much yeast to bubble up, there is actually enough natural surface tension from the agressive amount of carbon dioxide to prevent any ambient oxygen to get back down into the liquid.

Regardless of either option, he needs to remove the airlock, dump it out, sterlize it again, add clean water and put it back on. Having gross boglim juice sitting in the in the open air reservoir section of the airlock is going to go rotten very quickly and some of those microbes might disperse back into the mead after the 2 days of heavy duty fermentation

I think i posted a photo of my cider earlier in this thread, and someone pointed out the amount of headspace i had in my jug. Leaving enough headspace is precisely to avoid situations like this.

Edit: Just to reiterate the point. This is why you leave space up on top. How much to leave depends on the sugar content of the liquid, the amount and type of yeast, and of course the volume of liquid. Once you've done this enough times, you can predict how much space you'll need.

The foamy stuff settles back down after about 2-3 days, and by a week or 2 should totally disappear. The batch pictured below is actually almost ready for bottling and the liquid is almost totally clear now with no foam at all. (I just dont have any photos of it at present)
