The Easy to Track Username Hall of Shame - Reading warning labels are for chumps.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I search mine and it comes up with creative username generators as far as the eye can see, along with a sprinkle of questions and anecdotes about creative usernames. Seems that there are few people on the Internet retarded enough to pick "Creative Username" as their username.

I can't believe I have to say this, but sharing a username online is not proof that an individual is the same person. You can speculate and it can lead to confirmation, but just because the same name pops up in several places one SHOULD NOT automatically assume it is the same individual. You need more to go on.

Take my username for instance, if you were to look it up you find a shitty old videogame (that I had nothing to do with), a Twitter user (who is not me), a band from Florida (that I have nothing to do with) and a YouTube channel with close to 100k subscribers (that I, again, am not involved with).

Now look at the name Satoru182. Satoru is an extremely common Japanese surname and 182 is most likely in reference to the band Blink182, a band that potentially hundreds of millions of people know about at least in passing. It is well within the realm of possibility that there could be multiple people out there with the username.

My point in all of this is that I really don't think a lot of people in this thread are engaging their minds enough when it comes to this. You absolutely need more to go on to say with any certainty that one username on the site is the same person connected to a username on any other site. Like I said, it could be a thread to pull at, something to find a more concrete connection through, but until that thread is pulled and conclusive evidence is found people should stop posting that they super totally identified someone through their username search on the Happenings thread because it's making the site look reactionary and retarded (I know you aren't the one who posted it there, but I think other users should keep this in mind.).

Now there is some connection to be found here, the username here says they are from Costa Rica as do some of the others, so that IS something to speculate on, but information like that should be at the forefront, not just the fact that the usernames are the same.

Definitely. I've searched my usernames before on dox sites and there's plenty of false positives.

It's too late to edit my earlier post, but I just wanted to point out that I'm a retard and clarify that Satoru isn't an extremely common Japanese SURname, it's an extremely common Japanese FOREname i.e. first name, but they always write their family name first and their first name last, maybe because they read right to left (like a bunch of heretics), but the point is I said something retarded and wrong.

Gomennasai, Kiwisans.

I really don't get how people can use the same username over and over again. Especially the same username for porn and regular accounts. I got anxious just using Helvetia thinking "what if someone figures out which Swiss woman I am".
I used to do this in mmorpgs 15 years ago cause I was 9 years old. I still have to technically do it for all my work related shit nowadays so keep all credentials separate, all social media has dummy accounts attached to dummy emails while the work stuff has a single username attached to a single email, albeit never updated cause I don't give a fuck about linkedin and other cancer. Good tip for people, you can use a fake email generator to sign up for proton, I have like 15 accounts setup that way. Also a good practice nowadays sadly, it's better to keep a notebook filled with credentials and related shit instead of using password managers or notepads cause people are so absorbed online that writing down shit has unironically become more safe than storing shit inside a computer. If you want to be severely autistic like I am, pass the notebook credentials through a cipher, polybius playfair whatever and write the shit in reverse cursive so it can only be read through a mirror if you're inexperienced in reading reverse.

Reflecting back on the namefag thing, I kinda have my own input as someone who could be considered one.

The Internet didn't always be the way it has been over the last half decade; for a long time the whole concept of a namefag was strictly contained to anon boards but then being oldschool Internet became politicised and suddenly anyone with a molecule of humour online had to start worrying about being doxed. Then the use of doxing became more frequented -- it used to be reserved mostly for pedos, rapists, animal fuckers, and the insane, however now it's pretty much open season for it.

I don't think a lot of people really think having the same name gives them any kind of special recognition -- some of us are just too old, and have too many people who know us by one username to change at this point. I do however think that it's kinda retarded to use your online handle and link it to your real life accounts.

True, but your common sense should tell you not to create an account with your usual username on pornsites or the Farms.

I've never understood making an account on porn websites
Yeah, neither do I.
and when I joined it wasn't as big of a deal as it is now.
Even when you joined, KF had a bad reputation and was associated with two suicides. IMO, it would be unwise to associate your username with the "notorious harassment and cyberstalking forum".
