When I look at this tattoo, it screams 'Austin Maples'! Since I was in my first years of tattooing I have wanted what I call an "unsigned signature"- I wanted people to look at my tattoos and know I did them without having to ask. I think this design accomplishes this without a doubt.
This back was a long process to figure out. I started with the snake designed and played with a lot of different options for alternative heads for the body to wear. I thought having a snakes body with an abnormal head would be a nice change that would offer a comfortable traditional look but bring something new and unique to the design.
This tattoo was designed to stand the test of time with its imagery and layout. I look forward to bringing this to fruition for one lucky person! Final cost for this back piece is $18,000.
This back is to be completed in 4 - 5 all day (6 hour) sessions.
The total project cost will be divided into payments due at the end of each session.

She's been fucking fleeced for sure, a back piece like that should not cost you $18,000 dollars, especially from such a mediocre tattoo artist, I have a few tattoos myself and I can tell you all now that should not cost nearly twenty grand. It should be closer to 2k at the most.

Someone else already mentioned it but she most likely overtipped because she thinks that inclines the artist to see her as more of a friend than just a customer and i buy that statement wholesale. Here we have a woman that has gone her entire life against the flow of things and needs to rebel against something, and being the centre of vitriol is her flag.

- Lines between wing segments is too dark and "hard", making it look like all of 'em have three singular wings. Butterflies can have darker lines in between but it's way more blended.
- Knife legs on the butterflies, weird perspective again. At least they all have 6 legs... in a row, but 6 nonetheless. D+ for remembering how many legs they have I guess.
- Blended Snake/Butterfly combo looks awful, what is the snake part even connecting to? The Thorax? What the fuck is happening? Not enough detail/clarity to convey anything.
- Not realizing some snakes have hoods, which would have been a perfect part to turn into butterfly wings...
- The smaller butterflies don't have the holes in the outer wing patterns, why even do the holes in the first place?
- Snake scales are extremely ununiform.
- Absolutely bizarre over-shading on the snake's belly scales.
- Middle skull with eyes, I lol'd.
- Entire piece doesn't fit with the other garbage tattoos Anisa has, complete mismatch.
