TransLifeline might be officially closing their doors
With roughly $4 million still left in the bank as of the start of 2023, I'm not ready to sound the death knell quite yet. However, their tax return figures and latest announcement are quite telling.
This is indicative that the corporate support is drying up for tranny shit in general.
We will see if this is true when the next Pride month (and related days, weeks, and months) come around again. However, it's probably easier for Corporate America to post a rainbow-colored logo than it is to donate money that draws public scrutiny.
Speaking of which, how much money did he embezzle from them? Would there be a way for them to tell their creditors he's got their money?
From what I recall, Greta and Nina embezzled $350 000. I don't recall how much they paid back, but I'm impressed they paid
any of it back with TLL's reluctance to prosecute or enforce the restitution agreement. Still, that embezzled money would help them short-term if not long-term.
We got to watch while they went from successfully grifting celebs like Miley Cyrus, to trying to threaten Null while he was dropping a deuce, to exposing their embezzlement and getting Kjel and Niraj to resign in disgrace, watch those two retards try to build a troon compound in the desert in a shipping container, and now to watch Trans Lifeline close up shop.
I knew TLL was touted by celebs, but I couldn't remember by whom. Thanks,
@JULAY. I'm having a hard time believing anti-trans sentiment is the cause of TLL's financial woes when they are based out of a trans-friendly part of California. I'd be more inclined to believe the average donor has less disposable income due to inflation and stagnant wages along with corporations donating less money to charitable causes as they take in less money from whatever source. Is it possible more people are peaking and not as supportive of trans folks who are more interested in degeneracy than getting along with people? Yes, but I'd believe it more if they operated in a red area and not a deep blue one.
I can't help but think the new operators were almost as bad as Greta and that third worlder they had as a partner.
Apart from not embezzling funds as blatantly as Greta and Nina, I suspect very little changed from a day-to-day operational standpoint.
Isn't LFJ a millionaire? Certainly she can spare a couple grand at least to throw at the reason she picked a fight with the farms in the first place.
NGL, I'd suspect LFJ would blame the Farms for TLL's woes and demise if and when the latter happens.
All in all $5,339,094 in total expenses in 2022 compared to $3,427,926 in 2021 so one has to wonder what has been happening throughout this year.
3. Travels and meals spending increased more then double in 2022 compared to as it was in 2021.
Even with the cost of everything increasing over the past couple of years due to inflation and supply issues, my gut instinct is that TLL continued to spend money freely when costs increased and had neither internal controls nor a plan for dealing with decreased revenues.
"We haven't heard anything good about them actually. We just listed them with the rest of the crisis lines. If a trans client needs help it's probably better to refer them somewhere local where they can actually get help."
I know people that virtue signal out of obligation and the fear of being cancelled - especially if they live in liberal area that fully embrace social justice - while telling their based friends that it's all a bunch of garbage. With that in mind, it makes sense that people are listing TLL as one crisis line out of many while privately having the opinion that they're so awful nobody would seriously recommend them to a trans person needing help from a hotline operator.
Becoming a volunteer operator for trans lifeline would be an excellent opportunity for a investigative journalist or dedicated Kiwi operative.
Some time ago, someone did an experiment where they called TLL from various burner phones at various times to see how many calls would be answered and how the operators would handle the call. TL; DR - The answer rate was abysmal; I believe at least one call went to voice mail because nobody answered the call during a time volunteers were supposed to be available; and at least one operator was anything but helpful. In that instance, the caller stated they questioned their gender identity. The operator reply was along the lines of, "Well call back once you figure it out."
I didn't scan the 2022 tax return too closely since people have already brought up many of the figures it contains. However, I did note the following:
- The average amount for a name change microgrant was $635 per person. I'm not sure how much it costs, but $635 seems a bit high for a "microgrant" unless I'm misunderstanding the concept.
- The people who received money for gender affirming hair removal averaged $1500 per person. Yaniv would be jealous.
Will TLL cease operations, or is this just a doomer ploy intended to scare orbiters into donating more? Either way, this is going to be fun to watch.
