Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

One of the few marginally objective pro-Ukrainians reports that no, Avdiivka is not strategically irrelevant but has been fortified for 9 years because it opens up many options for Russia if taken, from a drive north, retaking the prized advances of last year to a drive west, retaking all the counteroffensive-won territory and more, to a drive to Krasnoarmiysk (currently Pokrovsk) in the North West, threatening Pavlograd and Dnipropetrovsk

Hahah I had no idea Ukraine had a Niu York

Founding and name origin

The origin of the name of the town remains a mystery that is the subject of many local legends. It could come from an entrepreneur or local dignitary, who would have settled from the United States or who would have had as a partner an American citizen from New York City.[6] Another explanation refers to the city of Jork, currently in northern Germany, where Mennonite settlers may have come from. The local historian Viktor Kovalov thus believes that the name of the locality may have corresponded to "Neu Jork" (new Jork) and evolved over time. It may also be the result of a transliteration error from the Latin alphabet to the Cyrillic alphabet.[7] However, the establishment of the Mennonites officially dates back to 1889, whereas the name Niu-York predates it. Another track recalls that names with a famous evocation were frequent in the region in the 19th century. Historical maps show a "Swiss farm" near Druzhkivka or a hamlet called "Carthage" around Soledar.[8] Also, historian Viktor Kovalov does not rule out the possibility of a joke.[6]

New York first appeared on maps in 1846.[9] The first official mention of the name of New York (Нью-Йорк) dates back to 1859 as one of the results of the census of the Yekaterinoslav Governorate, then part of the Russian Empire. The 1859 census confirmed that the locality then had 13 households, 45 men, 40 women and a factory.[9]

Hungary gets Zakarpattia, Romania gets Bukovina and Bessarabia, landlocked rump Ukraine gets tax-free port access to Odessa for civil goods and in return for that Russia gets an unconditional land bridge to Hungary. Oh and Pridnestrovie, faithful souls that they are. If Russian troops ever enter Pridnestrovie, I want to be there at the party in Tiraspol.
This is the way.

Romania may agree. Agenda may know better. I don't know the skinhead pop to pozzed politician ratio well enough.

Hungary would have to agree. If Orbán turns it down, his entire party's career is over alongside his. It would be equivalent of Putin surrendering to Zelensky and giving up nukes caliber of getting out of power.

Poland got pozzed by Tusk, who is ultra libtarfld, but they got their hardcore adidas nationalists.

So Poland likely would decline, but get the kurwa of all civil unrests in a summer of toilet pumps.

As to the stalemate, one side hasn't started conscripting yet, the other is conscripting pregnant women.

Neither the Reich nor Fr*nce had been that badly shat over. Russia hasn't fully mobilised yet. Biden and Zelensky are no Hitler and Napoleon. In fact they are doing worse. And those two lost too.

As for Bradly apc letting the Ukros run out of it before it combusts... cool.
Now they are on a minefield with drones raining death. Not a game changer. If it were, they wouldn't be conscripting this hard.

Cheap drones being a sometimes reusable, sometimes not flying mortar that AA is having trouble with dealing efficiently is the takeaway of this war.

It is an always present artillery spotter that is also a mortar. It is really reaming infantry hard. A gun behind every blade of grass can be nasty, but a flying bomb above every field is an even worse 3D variant of it.

It is like the 2nd amendment on steroids got blended with ww1 artillery paradigm shift. Nowhere is safe. It flies, terrain doesn't matter. It has heat vision. It must be hard on morale, it is terrifying, a sniper that can fly and see in the dark, the night helps it more than you, you can't escape or hide in cover. The poor sods can't even know which direction it is coming from, until it is above them and then they are getting a faceful of shrapnel before they can do anything.

Flak guns may make a comeback, but than you'll need to group up, and it is also an artillery spotter... I am sure the more military people here are thinking about it.

I am sure it won't last, and eventually it will be countered, but that may take decades that the Ukraine doesn't have.

Recently the neocon journal of record - the Atlantic - published articles about how the "solution" to Russia was breaking up Russia and ending Russian colonialism of oppressed peoples in Russia. At first this seemed like an odd American journalistic sort of idea with nothing more to it.

But I underestimated the glowies. Today I stumbled across something calling itself The Free Nations of Post Russia

They were founded months after the fighting broke out in Ukraine and represent at least 34 national movements who have suffered under Russian colonialism and need independence from Russia. And not just the expected ones. For example, the oppressed victims of colonialism in St. Petersberg yearn in their hearts for "free Ingria" to be established. And it seems like even the region around Moscow wants independence from Russia to become a landlocked state.

All these groups have their own flags and most of them seem completely artificial movements which mostly seem to be represented by people who are emigres. Its cute in that its very retro and seems like something out of the 1920s. But its also absurd.

The first meeting of this congress of fools was in Warsaw (of course it would be in Warsaw) in May 2022. Since then, they have regular meetings all over the world under the sponsorship of everyone from NATO to Japan.

Yeah, modern AA is usually expensive SAM. If your missile costs 500 thousand dollars but can take down a 10 million dollar plane, you win. But if it is a 40 thousand drone, you'll run out of missiles or cash. It also has to lock on to a smaller target, but on the other hand it doesn't need to fly too high.

But it was made to take down high value single targets. So a Patriot missile costs 4 million dollars. You need something cheaper and less flashy for drones.

A very retarded idea. I wish everyone, whose brainchild this idea is a very successful polonium tea party

It is somehow even more autistic. Though China would gobble those up one by one like dumplings.
Mongolia and Kazakhstan too since they have standing armies. China would probably give the mainland by the Tartar Strait and Sakhalin to North Korea just to troll Tokyo and Seoul epicly.

30 + Flakpanzer Gepard were sent to ukraine. These are supposed to be good vs drones, I think and ammo shouldn't be expensive.

30 isn't that much for a front that big. Drones are best at hunting down small groups, that are supposed to do US style fast operations without attracting muscovite orktillery. But that is the usual problem with western gibs. Too little, by too late, in tiny little portions. If they sent 300 with the Leopards and the F-16s and the Abrams when it started, maybe it would have worked.

Oh my. This is a left wing paper. A hohol teacher is getting investigated after going too hohol.

The old woman says, hungarians are dogs, so stupid they can't learn the language of Bandera. Hungarians, Romanians, Poles and Russians must be deported. Than she said Azov and AUF personnel are m*scovites for speaking in russian and not true and honest Ukraini patriots. The SBU didn't like her last take.

Talk about cope induced skizo.

Gunther the retard is a fan of it, but the "Free States of Russia" (or Free Nations of post Russia) is an actual glowie-funded organization formed after the conflict in Ukraine began. He is retweeting their actual proposal.

I found some additional stuff. Japan has stepped up to fund the "Free Eurasia Coordination Center" affiliated with these people.

Obviously completely unrelated to funding the center, the "Free Nations of Post Russia" at their Tokyo meeting did a special declaration "emphasized the need to sign a peace treaty between Russia and Japan and to solve the problem of “occupied Japanese northern territories".
