im all for open source but man does android suck compared to IOS im gonna list some of my issues below in greentext format

>poor performance
>no guarantee of quality
>inconsistent UI
>improperly optimized apps
>google spyware

let me explain android has no guarantee of quality or inconsistency on IOS for example everyphone looks the same they all work smoothly they all have the same UI they are all of decent quality aside from the hardware being hard to fix while not private they have better features than google not really a concern for me but the main thing is with android you can get a slow peice of trash like most my android phones and tech review guys will tell you YOUR SAMSUNGS NOT SLOW YOUR USING IT WRONG even though its garbage vs apple even with the iphone SE despite its poor hardware has amazing software IOS minus the latest IOS 16 has been nice and consistent i also don't have to worry about google discontinuing products like google podcasts the only good features of android are sideloading and usb C but most my family has lighting so even thats not an advantage and apples getting sideloading

so TLDR android is slow and inconsistent and the only good features sideloading and usb C are coming to apple also apologize for poor grammer post was too long for free grammer checking and im too lazy to edit it

Hello Internet user, have you heard the good news about Language Tool?

On topic, I would like to gripe about shitty hardware support and non-compliance with the source code availability clause in the license, locked bootloaders, and other faggot attempts to disallow running custom roms/root access. Fuck all of that shit.

just use a computer
based i already do this 99 percent of the time but taking pictures and making phone calls is an annoyence with my android
Hello Internet user, have you heard the good news about Language Tool?
Ive never heard of this thanks
Can I install Vanced on iPhone?
Can I install pirated Spotify?

i struggle with basic tasks on my cheap samsung phone
Well there's your problem.
The apps get bigger and update frequently. Most mid range phones are OK for like 2 years IMO. Cheap phones are basically unusable after 5-6 years because of lack of RAM/processing power and slow, insufficient storage.

im not a specs guy either but the pinephone is 800 bucks for a 720p screen way too much money

That's because Apple already got sued over this. Android makers learned from that lesson. They fill it with in-house bloatware. When they're ready to sell new phones they update their bloatware to a version that screams out for higher specs, and they have created plausible deniability. Samsung is amongst the worst offenders. It's called planned obsolescence.
Apple has been fined 25 million euros (£21m, $27m) for deliberately slowing down older iPhone models without making it clear to consumers.
The fine was imposed by France's competition and fraud watchdog DGCCRF, which said consumers were not warned.
In 2017, Apple confirmed that it did slow down some iPhones, but said it only did so to "prolong the life" of the devices.
Apple said in a statement that it had resolved the issue with the watchdog.

Why does Apple slow down old iPhones?

Many customers had long suspected that Apple slowed down older iPhones to encourage people to upgrade when a new one was released.
In 2017, the company confirmed it did slow down some models as they aged, but not to encourage people to upgrade.
It said the lithium-ion batteries in the devices became less capable of supplying peak current demands, as they aged over time.
That could result in an iPhone unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components.
So, it released a software update for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE which "smoothed out" battery performance.
The practice was confirmed after a customer shared performance tests on Reddit, suggesting their iPhone 6S had slowed down considerably as it had aged, but had suddenly speeded up again after the battery had been replaced.

What did the regulator say?

The French watchdog said iPhone owners "were not informed that installing iOS updates (10.2.1 and 11.2) could slow down their devices".
As part of the agreement, Apple must display a notice on its French-language website for a month.
It says Apple "committed the crime of deceptive commercial practice by omission" and had agreed to pay the fine.

Does Apple still slow down older iPhones?

Yes. Since Apple confirmed the practice in 2017, it has implemented it on several more iPhones including:
  • iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
  • iPhone 8 and 8 Plus running iOS 12.1 or higher
  • iPhone X running iOS 12.1 or higher
  • iPhone XS, XS Max and XR running iOS 13.1 or higher
The setting is only enabled when the battery begins to degrade, and iOS now offers clearer information to consumers about when performance management has been switched on.
"The effects of performance management on these newer models may be less noticeable due to their more advanced hardware and software design," Apple said.
They reached a settlement last year:
Millions of iPhone owners whose older devices slowed down after software updates may soon receive a payday, with individuals possibly receiving up to $90 each.

Apple will soon be paying out between $310 million and $500 million to up to roughly 3 million users of many pre-2018 model iPhones, lawyers for Apple customers said in a statement. The payouts will go to affected users who filed claims against the tech giant in 2020 for an issue that became known as "batterygate."

"[W]e can finally provide immediate cash payments to impacted Apple customers," said Mark C. Molumphy, a partner at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, one of the firms handling the suit on behalf of Apple customers.

The settlement comes after a judge dismissed Apple's appeal to challenge a class-action lawsuit filed against the tech giant in 2017, clearing the path for "consumers impacted by software throttling" to receive settlement payments, the claimants' lawyers said.
