The judges are looking for surgically altered beauties, and these troons have the genetics and money to perfectly fit those standards with the trans being a touch of "exotic" to push them over into unique winning beauty, I assume.

I was listening to a true crime podcast about a recently identified Jane Doe and as the host is going over the murder suspects, she names one that has a female name before pulling the classic "They used to go by a different name, but they go by such and such name now." The host then proceeds to speed through their segment despite being a solid if not interesting person of interest. It was almost like the host didn't want to touch this person with a 50ft pole. This caught my attention because this was a pretty brutal murder and women aren't typically known for committing these types of crimes. So, like a pig digging for truffles I went looking for information. Surprise, surprise, it wasn't a woman at all, but a ghoulish troon! Let's take a little look at Glen Robert Askeborn or as he went by, "Samantha Glenner".
For the sake of readability some information might not be in the link directly beneath it and instead in one of the other links. This case is so old that finding information was difficult and some of it is conflicting. I did my best to make sure it is as accurate as possible.
Glen's first crimes are robberies and dunking his sept-son's head under a bathtub of scalding hot water. He went to prison for 6 years and was promptly dismissed from the Navy. To say he escalated would be an understatement. That being said, Old Glenny boy is infamous for murdering a lonely elderly woman who had tried to befriend him. The murder victim, Amelia Cave had invested money in his latest business venture. One of his many failed businesses. On October 4th, Amelia would go missing after a visit with Glen at his trailer. Alas, Amelia's body would be found partly buried beneath a stone wall that Glen himself had been building on his family's property not far from his prized, but unseaworthy boat.
Her head was covered with a plastic bag, her wrists tied with nylon cord, her ankles bound with packing twine and her mouth stuffed with an empty birdseed bag. She had been beaten and strangled.
An autopsy revealed that her death was caused by asphyxiation. Shortly after her death Glen wrote a check to her bank that was quickly dismissed as fraudulent. Glen was quickly arrested and charged with murder. He waived his right to a jury trial because he didn't think being a freak of nature would go over well with his peers. Unfortunately, for him the judge sentenced him to 40 years in prison. Of course, he tried to appeal by changing his plea from not guilty to not guilty by reason of insanity. It did not work. Back to the sin bin with you, Glen.
Believing her son to be innocent, Glen's Mother did not take the ruling well. Lamenting over the ruling she stated such insightful things as "The only person who can prove my daughter innocent is dead” in reference to Cave, and "I'm sorry that the judge didn’t understand innocence when he saw it". Lady, he killed a woman, maybe two and burned a child's head in scalding water. You need to take him out behind the trailer shed he was living in and old yeller him.
And what kind of world would we be in if an incarnated troon didn't lose their shit over hormones? Glen had been denied access to his "female sex hormone treatments" since his arrest. Did he pull the suicide card? You bet he did, but he was also handling the depression well according to Assistant Attorney General Ann Catlin. I'm so glad we were dealing with this even in 1985.
The real treasure is this People's Magazine article written by Kristin McMurran. It gives insight into Amelia's life and who she was a person, but also tells us what Glen looked like. I was unable to find a single picture of Glen, but we at least have the people who knew Glen to draw us a visual picture.

Samantha had no money and was “having trouble getting hormones.” Without them, she had told Pinkham, her face was “starting to get rough, while before it was smooth and beautiful.”
Several weeks later Glenner’s lawyers filed a motion for a new trial with the Maine Superior Court, attempting to change their client’s plea to not guilty by reason of insanity. In August Judge Beaulieu sentenced Samantha to a 40-year term, and she was taken to the all-male Maine State Prison at Thomaston. There she will reside as Glen Robert Askeborn.
I want to touch on the murder he is a suspect in real quick. The victim is Patricia Meleady Newsom also known as 1975 New Haven Jane Doe, 1975 Connecticut Jane Doe, East Haven Jane Doe, and Jane Hamden Doe. Glen is a suspect because he lived in New Haven at the time of her murder and her body was found eerily a lot like Amelia.
Arms and ankles bound? Check. Birdseed bag stuffed in her mouth? Check. Beaten and strangled? Check. The only real differences is that antennae wire was used and that her neck and waist were also bound. Her body was found in a drainage ditch and was probably stuffed in a pipe before being dislodged.
Glen never confessed to the crime and the one time he did talk to police he wasn't exactly lucid. Glen served 25-28 years of his prison sentence for the murder of Amelia and was released in 2009. Glen died October 2022 and the world is a much better place without him.

I can't remember if it was Rader or Gary Ridgeway, (or maybe someone else entirely) but one of those guys had actually basically retired from being a serial killer and hadn't murdered anyone for years, and only started to taunt the police when they heard the police suspected someone else of one of his murders, and it was his baiting them that finally got him caught.
