I will unironically start going postal if they inject current year into Kingdom Hearts.

They might. MIGHT, still be working on an animated series for disney, but besides the odd merch or two square is not going to pimp sora out unless they are given an assload of money that Disney doesn't have.

Given the most recent Final Fantasy I believe had their response to "where's all the black people?" be "it's medieval Europe, not here." I have hope. Honestly though I think Kingdom Hearts is in a weird state right now, it feels like there's comparatively little happening and I have to assume Disney and Square are screaming at each other behind closed doors.

They are going to drop the mobile game sometime next year and then 4 the year after I assume. We might get some more spinoffs but we'll see.

I saw stuff about the mobile game, near as I can see those tend not to involve any Disney properties so it seems Square's attitude is "fuck you, we do what we want." Other spinoffs like you say we'll wait and see.

Yeah there's the standard adventure in other Disney worlds but the base plot of xchi unchained had nothing to do with Disney. Not even Mickey has a role besides a brief cameo.

Dark road was actually really imaginative and dare I say dark in how it teased the possibility of certain items like genie's lamp being used like WMDs to summon kingdom hearts. It was definitely the best cohesion I've seen when it came to the characters actually interacting with the villains and environment.

Don't think missing link will do that much but we'll see. Even the base games don't have many major players besides the Mickey trio, yen sid and Maleficent. (Nomura loves Hades though, God bless him)
