These thieving pricks have been making excuses and telling their paypigs all kinds of bullshit about how unforeseen circumstances or whatever made it impossible for them to do what they promised to do in return for money they've already swindled and spent.
This literal ex-hood gangsta has outdone them all and makes their pathetic excuses look like the joke they are. These naked emperors are furious.
A man promised a product, had already made it by the time he started crowdfunding, then delivered it. Like he was running a real business or something. It makes them look like an absolute fucking joke and that's why they're seething.
Eric came at this almost entirely from the business perspective. The other CGers are acting like spoiled
artistes wannabes who go to art school, smoke pot and talk about the big things they're gonna do but just
"can't, like, find that inspiration, maaaaaan." So they procrastinate and procrastinate.
As somebody who has done a pro-quality long comic from scratch, it takes forever, but if you schedule yourself properly, it can be done and consistently too. Eric put his money where his mouth was. he hired people who wanted to work for him and had the experience to do it on time. Everyone in CG wants to make a Marvel/DC floppy comic but no one has the skill or production staff to make it. And notice, Razorfist, the one CG orbiter who also has the collaborative spirit and teams up with professionals to cover his shortcomings is amicable to Eric July.
Taking this back to Rekieta: When Balldo was accusing Eric of becoming like the Marvels and the DCs of the world, it's once again, intentional or not, projection. Nick's buddies like the EVS and Dax are behaving like the New Marvels: They're bloated, former mainstream personalities who're prone to gatekeeping based entirely on interpersonal favor-politics and failing to realize a functional product in some way. With The Big companies, the art is shit and the stories are hot garbage filled with gay propaganda - with CG, it's all in lacking delivery + most CG creators are greenhorns.
There has to be some point where CG looks and begins thinking about making the future of media as opposed to just being the bottom-feeders who bitch about it while occasionally making late, sub-par comics. Nobody stays indie forever, nobody should aim to stay Indie forever. You have to build infrastructure or you're going to always be poor.
