There's more to this. He made these videos in partnership with the Video Game History Foundation, yet another nonprofit Jirard has been "working with".
These guys also have ties to Wata Games through the VGHF's founder, Frank Cifaldi. Wata is a scam group that was working alongside Heritage Auctions that Karl Jobst exposed for purposefully creating a bubble in the retro gaming market.
I was looking into this, and I saw somebody tweeting at Karl to look into it a while ago. So Jobst might want to take a second look into things. It was suggested that Jirard might be doing this with VGHF to help Wata create an aftermarket for consoles with Eshop games on them.

Got to love it when Jared is one of the first people called out. Jontron's curse is strong and at this point, the only credibility Jared will have is with some tumblr arthoes and other gaming youtube gremlin with open relationships. It is also funny seeing that as early as this month, Jirard is still saying they work with foundations they have no connection with or contribute towards. The court case is going to be amazing.

Well since Jirard is finally getting a thread, might as well toss out way too much info/some insane ramblings. If there is something I miss or you want info on something, I can probably find it. It's one of the benefits of being a major fan for years.
Jirard's internet presence actually started on a live stream with JonTron. There he was doing the tech, and the chat didn't know his name, so they kept calling him "Beard Man". That's how he got nickname and why Greg refers to him as such for early episodes of the Completionist.
It was around this time that Jirard started writing the first episode of the Completionist, but he wasn't happy it. That is until his friend Greg came over, found the script, and started reading it out loud. Jirard burst out laughing and realized that Greg's personality was perfect as the way he read fixed the parts of the script he was unsure about. Thus Greg came on as Jirard's co-host and the first episode of the Completionist was born.
Things were fine for awhile, but after episode 120, Jirard and Greg had a falling out. Jirard, not wanting this to become another Jon leaving Game Grumps situation, released a video stating that Greg will no long be a part of the Completionist.
Greg took offense to this as Jirard made it seem like the two were still friends, and he made sure to point out that they were not on both Twitter and his response on Reddit.
This is where things get hazy as the internet got involved and muddled the waters a lot. Jirard and Co have been very tight lipped about what actually happened between him and Greg. The only instance I know of someone slipping up and mentioning something was on a now deleted YouTube video from the channel called Versus. One of the hosts, JoshJepson, said that Greg did some nasty things behind the scenes during the fight but didn't say anything more. Considering he likely heard this from ProtonJon, friend of Jirard and eventual Normal Boots member, you're looking at second hand information that has likely been skewed. (The other host of the Versus channel was Tyler Sederwall, a gay man who eventually moved to California and worked for Jirard for a bit. He also had his dick vomited on by another gay man. Unrelated, but I thought it was funny.) The internet however believes that Jirard called Greg into the office one day and ambushed him with a lawyer with Greg getting fucked over because he didn't have a contract and instead believed in his and Jirard's friendship.
While we never know what truly caused the fallout, here's my speculation of events/what I've pieced together. Episode 100 marked the end of season 1 of the Completionist and where episodes stopped for a bit while Jirard went on vacation. During this time, Jirard had a playthrough of the Mario All Stars Pack on his Let's Play channel, Super Beard Bros. What's interesting is that this playthrough takes place during Jirard's vacation and eventually spilled over into the beginnings of season 2, mentioning games he was playing for episodes before Greg's departure. But whenever Jirard referred to Greg being on the show, it was in past tense, "was" on the show. So between season 1 and season 2, it seems like Jirard wanted the show to focus more on himself, so Greg got the boot from co-host. While not amazing proof, the Completionist 10 year anniversary video, somewhat shows this as instead of celebrating 10 years of the show, it was a massive jerk-off session on how great and wonderful Jirard is as a person. Needless to say, being demoted from co-host down to a writer didn't sit well with Greg, especially when it was thanks to his read of the first script that the Completionist even got off the ground in the first place.
The rest is pretty well known. Greg eventually asked for all episodes of him to be removed and Jirard complied with him redoing all the episodes as New Game Plus. Greg got a lot of backlash from this though, and deleted his Twitter. He did have a Let's Play show where he invited musicians before that, but it didn't really go anywhere, and with the deletion of his Twitter, Greg has pretty much disappeared from the internet. He's still alive though, as his IMDB page was updated in 2021 where he was the producer of a short film.
The Greg situation was apparently very stressful for Jirard, he admitted to taking some weed edibles to escape and his employees were told not to mention Greg.
The thing Jirard will never admit to, is that New Game Plus saved his channel. The Completionist videos have zero replay value, and if you want those clicks, you either need two things, nostalgia or what's new and trending. With Jirard not getting review codes, his videos come out late, usually after everyone stops caring about it, something that he has complained about a couple of times. So New Game Plus reopened 120 games, meaning time to redo all the Mario and Zelda's and get all those easy nostalgia clicks. Now that New Game Plus has just about reached it's conclusion, Jirard's attempts at new content have been utter fucking trash. It's the reason why I was a major fan and now I'm not. Made the charity thing hurt a lot less though. Jirard also wasn't very happy with how the first couple episodes of the Completionist aged and so he was probably fine with redoing them. Maybe you can figure out why.
Jirard is diagnosed with a rare disorder called Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus syndrome. The way he describes it, is when he was a child he had a harmless tumor on his back, but he fell off a swing and landed directly on it, popped it, and sent it throughout his body. This has lead to many different growths appearing on his body, both internally and externally. He's gone in for multiple surgeries to remove them, the last one being a few years ago when they appeared inside his intestines. This diagnosis is the reason why he explains his weight gain, stating that he has difficulty doing physical activities. Going from looking like this:

Now while the diagnosis is probably somewhat to blame, a simpler reason for his weight gain is likely his #gamer lifestyle. It's his job to play video games and the frequent long hours he puts in means he orders from Grubhub and Uber Eats a lot.
Other than the Completionist, has had a couple of other ventures. G4 has been mentioned by other people, Super Beard Bros is his Let's Play channel, he made a boy band album called Big Bad Bosses with album 2 being in the works, and most recently he dabbled into helping creating three video games where he's working with the developers and giving his creative input. The first is Elise, a side scrolling hack and slash similar to that of Megaman X:

Something I might add (I only really skimmed through the video to make this point so feel free to correct me.) is that since Jirard bought everything digitally, he missed every game that was delisted from both eshops, which means not only is his title and claim technically wrong, but he could've spent even more money than he already did (which may or may not have came from the charity his family runs)
But on the side of preservation besides the obvious everything already being preserved.... let me indulge a bit in some console sperging.
First but minor point is that you can indeed copy DSiWare games from the 3DS' system memory, but you can't play them unless they are in the system memory, I know this becuase you could have done that with a random and usesless at the time DSiWare App called Nintendo Fan Network that only used in Seattle durring baseball games but was used by hackers to install homebrew by exploiting vunrabilities with how the 3DS handled DSi titles when it was availible at the time (with this method being replaced with more easier to access methods over time), though I wouldn't blame Jirad dispite him being the ultimate Nintendo Consoomer since this feature was barely used besides that purpose.
and while i'm on that bit about how the 3DS was hacked for homebrew puproses, you absoultely needed your 3DS or Wii U hacked if you even wanted to dump your games as backups or for use on an emulatior becuase normally if you plopped in that SD card/MicroSD/Flash Drive into another console, then the console would ethier deny access to the games unless the account on that console actually bought the game in the case of the Wii U, or would wipe the whole thing clean to put it's own data in it's place with the 3DS. The only way to get arround that would be to dump the game from the hacked 3DS/Wii U the game was bought on, and then effectivly amounts to transplanting that into another hacked 3DS/Wii U with tools that installed the game from the format it was initally dumped as.
So the moment that Jirard ends up losing the Wii U or 3DS he bought those games for and puts those storage devices he had those games on into another 3DS/Wii U without any preperation (especally when Nintendo no longer allows for redownloading of games you purchased before from thier servers), then gone will be those games he wasted money on.

It's honestly pretty funny and cathartic just how much the Internet used to rely on rape jokes. Back in the day, you'd see truckloads of YT comments saying "I raped the replay button" on videos or music they particularly liked, you had YTPs and Gmod vids with dozens of buttsex jokes, YT reviewers used to mention rape like it was nothing, I even remember Fawful's Minion/Animalguy001 nicknaming Kirby Mass Attack: Kirby's Epic Rape Fest.

I'm not sure if he still calls himself that, but I used to watch his stuff before, I believe he answered that on some QnA.
Basically a friend of his changed his middle name on Facebook to Dragonrider as a joke, and Jirard decided to keep the nickname. If memory serves that was a QnA on tumblr, maybe there's someone else that has archives or more knowledge that can comment on this.

Funny thing about the Streisand Effect, she recently revealed that it wasn't the picture itself she wanted removed, it was her name. (She doesn't do a lot of press because they twist facts. She points out numerous examples in her recent memoir)

So, it seems Karl Jobst was tipped off by someone with the info. What would be pretty funny if it was Greg who tipped off with this info. Though, I think it could be more likely just some rando who looked through the recent indieland 2023 stuff and found about the Irs documents.

Never underestimate how much a soft/kind demeanor can help you get away with things. If someone who wasn't Jirard did this, they'd have been hung from the Youtube gallows by now.
