I really like the idea in the art book of the star being like a guy maybe a love interest?
This is just speculation, but I've seen some people online who think that the line from the king's song where he says "these genes come from outer space" isn't just about him having amazing good looks, but a holdover from an unconfirmed earlier version of his story where he's also a fallen star, which is why he can control wishes. From there, I don't think it would be a far leap to say that star boy would be a prince (possibly even related to the king!) and a marriage to Asha at the end of the movie would make her the newest Disney princess. Between that and the queen also being evil, I can easily see a much better, more classic Disney film than has been released in years and am tempted to write up a summary for the hell of it.

So the Star was originally a boy, who was originally going to be intended to be drawn entirely in 2D, but the current animators are too lazy to do it because it's haaaaaarrrrd, and making the Star just a regular star was easier to model and animate in 3D.

Yeah, fuck everyone involved with this project.
It’s not that it’s haaaaaaard, it’s that Disney simply no longer has the infrastructure for hand drawn animation. A 3D animation studio can’t just pivot to hand-drawn, they’re entirely different skillsets and workflows.

Star wars was an issue because Disney in their infinite wisdom gave exclusive rights to EA. That's why there's barely been any games made. Thankfully that expired in 2023 but wow...
Now thinking about it, I am guessing Marvel was an issue last game because the rights were with Capcom and/or Koei Techmo. KH3 came out in the year between Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.

Now it seems that Square is the sole publisher of console Marvel titles (excluding Spider-Man). Infinite did so poorly that I doubt they will ever do an MvC again. Meanwhile, MUA3 set up for a sequel, but has been dead silent for 4 years now. I am going to assume MUA4 is not going happen, which is weird as I thought it did well.

Your idea sounds like something I’d actually want to see in theaters. Little girls love fairy tale romances so I think it’s really weird Disney doesn’t want to do them… so they can appeal to smug Disney adults who point out the “cinema sins” in their classic movies.

I can't get over how uncanny everything in Wish looks, watercolors my ass it's like they intentionally made it look bad to burn all bridges with a 2D style so people will stop asking for it. It looks plain unfinished like they forgot to give it several more weeks to cook on their rendering computers and somebody already mentioned how egregious main woman's hair looks.

minor edit: Am I the only who thinks the King's eyes are slightly too large in his 3D model, for his age and sex, they look more proportionate in the sketches. This is basic stuff, he looks too 'cute'.

Disney starts putting out more poc main characters and almost immediately love interests cease to exist...

No romance for moana, raya, mirabel or Asha.
Ig Ariel is black now, but they also made her love interest look twice her age for that one. its also the only interracial one as far as im aware
Tiana's a thing, but she was the first so I guess they wanted to play it safe.

This movie could've been saved somewhat if they'd gone with the original idea and made the King and Queen both evil, but also a power couple. I guess they got cold feet when some cunt probably went "urrm, all the Queens in these stories are evil, we gotta subvert expectations!". Fuck that faggot. Disney could've easily nurtured a fanbase who go wild for an older, clearly in love, evil couple - cosplays, the hype for a well-written villain couple duet, fanart, free shilling online, etc. It doesn't fix the plot of the movie being dumb or the other characters being bland and shit, but right now there's nothing to prop this movie up. I haven't seen a single nice word said about it (that isn't from Multiverse brainrot retards who clap when they see thing and recognize it from other thing)

It's pretty funny that Disney is aiming for fujoshis and faggots to approve their shitty interracial/gay/lesbian romances, while that audience is more likely to read straight up porn instead. I think the writers in charge can't understand the idea that romance isn't something that is only based on having sex.

They really missed their chance for their take on Morticia and Gomez Addams.
Shame.

I've never seen the live action remakes. How badly is the romance done in those? ( Like Aladin or beauty and the beast)

I've seen the remakes of Mulan and Aladdin. There's really nothing to say about Mulan because it's just a terrible all-around, but Aladdin was really fascinating in that, outside of Will Smith having some fun stuff that reminded you of why he used to be popular (though paling in comparison with Robin Williams), it was one of the most sterile movies I've ever seen. I'm not sure how it's possible to take a movie that's one of Disney's funniest, most quotable, heartfelt, and just amazingly animated and make a movie where there is pretty much no inspiration, no chemistry between actors whether romance or between hero and antagonist, no cleverness in the script, no interesting visuals, nothing. It's not even bad, just....there. I felt nothing while watching it other than a bit of amusement from Will Smith here and there.

edit - I forgot the really important part for your post: Jasmine now has a friend to talk to (this misses the entire point of Jasmine, who is isolated and alone and frustrated that Jafar and the Sultan are living her life for her in the original) that becomes the Genie's love interest. I do not know why this is in there. I wasn't even mad at it. I didn't like it either. A truly "who cares?" film.

Dave Filoni will now work "side by side with Kathleen Kennedy" at the inception phase of any new Star Wars projects (honestly no idea what's going on with current projects, or what would be done with them - literally no one except soybeards on youtube would notice if they were all Batwomaned).

So either they're paying KK to do nothing (which I'm pretty sure they were already doing, since they kept defunding every project she was involved with) or there's going to be some spectacular cat-fighting between these two immensely untalented hacks. Either way, I don't think this is the kind of move that's going to make Peltz go away.

So the Wish reviews are coming in and aren't that great. Most saying it's boring or underwhelming, even many of the positive ones.

Didn't cherry pick these, just first four from Rotten Tomatoes so you don't have take just my word.
