Four new matchups. Only one can advance.

I really liked the latest movie last year. Love the attention it gave with Piccolo, Gohan and Pan. Especially Piccolo for the first half. I guarantee you if SSJ3 aesthetic wasn't a thing in Buu arc in 94 and was a thing introduced recently, people would have the same reaction (why does Goku have grug eyebrows?).

Rate me MATI or autistic, but there’s something I’ve noticed about the show’s fanbase that makes me roll my eyes. Any time someone talks about the early seasons, it’s an echo chamber of the same opinions.

“Erm, the show’s early humor hasn’t aged well.”

“Ugh, the sex jokes are so cringe and unfunny and problematic!”

“Rogue vs Wonder Woman has a line where Boomstick implies he’d rape Ms. Marvel? How disgusting!”

“How dare this episode from 2011 use the word ‘retard’ to describe Michelangelo!”

“Bieber vs Black is the worst episode of the show because it’s cyberbullying two real teenagers.”

“Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie has a SLUR in it? Uh… well, that’s problematic!” - people who aren’t from the EU when they hear someone say “spastic”

There was that time Hulk took a L to Godzilla in the 70's by getting casually stepped on, so I guess that's settled. Honestly if something is fighting Godzilla, you should probably assume he's taking it.

Yeah, that happens to just about any channel that runs as long as Death Battle that had even the slightest bit of "edge" to it. At this point I'm just glad if a channel like that doesn't disavow or straight up delete their old content to appease these pearl-clutchers.

It's funny to watch the last chunk of screwattack's corpse get eaten by the maggots of society. Just imagine being men in your forties and having to comb over every single thing you say like a damned ww2 wind talker in order to make a living off of teenagers that change genders at the drop of a hat.

Apparently a D-list Youtuber that got his fame off cribbing Death Battle’s music composer is now trying to cancel said composer.

Couldn’t archive the doc itself, but it’s a bunch of lame shit.

This is not a take down.

This is not a “canceling”.

This is me explaining why I don’t like Brandon, and how that came to be.

Hopefully I never have to make this public, but honestly. This is just for me. I need to have this all written down. I’m not going to give “receipts” or anything, and like I said. This isn’t a take down. There’s not really a reason for me to have any here. This is the story of my personal experience with Brandon Yates.

It started around 2019, when I started making scores. Alongside those, I also had released a couple of covers of Death Battle OSTs. I believe those are what got Brandon’s attention. He commented on one of those, and saw that I had potential. This was the start of, what I can only assume in his mind, was a student-teacher relationship. But in truth, all it served to do was infantilize me and make me feel powerless whenever we talked to each other. We started talking in early 2020. It was very infrequent, basically only happening once a month or so. He showed me stuff for me to purchase, even when I said I had no money. It was around this time when he essentially told me I wasn’t working hard enough - I said one day I was exhausted from working all day, and he claimed that he worked a full 40 hour week at a factory and still came home and made music all night. I don’t know if he meant this as encouraging, but all it did was deflate my sense of self. It also was the start of something I noticed in Brandon’s music - quantity over quality. But that’s just my opinion. Also at this time, Brandon had convinced me we should collaborate. I was working on an album, and showed him a song that I wanted to work on with him. I sent him all of the information and tracks he needed, and essentially the only thing I recorded that made the final cut was my vocal track. He replaced all my stems with digital instruments without asking me, on a song that I wrote. And I felt like I couldn’t say anything - I couldn’t complain. This was Brandon Yates! Who was I? It may have been intentional, may not have been. But this dynamic permeated its way through all of our relationship.
That song was also a nightmare to get him to finish. He ended up doing most of it (even though he didn’t have to, or could’ve asked me to re-record everything) but only after a full year of waiting for anything to get done it. I understand being busy, but if I’m remembering correctly the song was written in February… and was finished in December. It was clearly not a top priority for him. Not that I expected it to be, but a 10 month waiting period… feels too long. It was not that complicated. Around this time as well, OriginTheHero had asked me if he could pay me for a piece of music. I had never even considered this an opportunity I would have, so I took it and ran. Commissions for me had just opened. And they stayed open for a very long time. Long enough for Brandon to take notice. In 2021, Brandon DMed me saying he was inspired by me to do commissions. He even stated that “you have to take the ideas you see that you like”, or something to that ilk. Whatever it was, the message to me was very clear - your time in the spotlight is over. I think he had to know what he was doing with this - he was screwing a very small creator (in comparison) out of their main source of income, which was something I dropped out of college to pursue. It wasn’t immediate, but there was a decline in commissions for sure. I can only assume because of Brandon opening his own. Commissions he has openly admitted to me that he doesn’t put as much effort in as the tracks for Death Battle. I cannot stress this enough - if you order a commission from Brandon, I guarantee you he works on it for maybe 2 hours at most and puts very little effort into it. It is not the best use of your money. And I’m not saying to commission me, I don’t do commissions anymore. Partially because of this, partially because of other reasons. I’m saying this because I don’t want people wasting hundreds of dollars on a song that Brandon himself, 9 times out of 10, gives zero shits about.
TW: Suicide for this paragraph
But that’s not the extent of it. This is, after all, MY experience with him. Brandon forcing me out of the commission game due to his bigger name made me have to get jobs that I hated just to make sure I wasn’t getting kicked out of the home I live in. It got to a point where my depression got to its lowest point since 2020, and in 2022 for the first time in 9 years I attempted suicide. Obviously, I didn’t go through with it. But the fact that I got to that point - it was frightening. I had trouble thinking about how I got there, but it all stemmed back from Brandon’s decision to start his own commissions. I don’t blame Origin here at all, honestly I don’t know who to blame. Myself for talking to him? Him for forcing me out of the game? I honestly couldn’t tell you who deserves blame. All I know is that this was enough for me to realize I never wanted to talk to him again. The last time I have messaged him was in 2022, when a group of people wanted me for a VS track that never went through. Even then, I made it clear that I was only there to get paid, as I had no interest in the project otherwise. Brandon included. If you’re worried about me right now, don’t be. I have a job I love teaching kids (and adults) how to play drums. I love making VS content that fits my niche, even if it's a hard sell to others. If there was any silver lining to this whole situation, it was where I am right now. I’m the happiest I’ve been in a while. I have friends who love me. All I know is that Brandon was never my friend. He was my “mentor”. Refused to meet me on my level. And I have no interest in talking to someone like that. Not ever again.

- Skye T.

tl;dr Brandon worked with this guy, but “Skye” felt infantilized, and when they collaborated Brandon replaced the instruments on the song he wrote.

He stopped doing commissions because he felt Brandon screwed him out of potential customers by opening around the same time. He ends the doc by using this to blame Brandon for a suicide attempt in 2022.

He says at the start he doesn’t want to give receipts for any of this, so I’m definitely calling bullshit.

Looks like they need to pay the bills off the backs of Dragon Ball fans again.

I cant wait for TFS to be involved because of course they will be.

Outcome was fun, but man I am curious if they'll cave into the DBZ fans or piss them off a third time.
I don't see them changing the outcome. It was built on bullshit the first two times, and going back on what they said before would harm their "credibility" in their own eyes, so they're still going to be working under the retard logic that Superman is invincible and unreachable.

I hope they do let Goku win, but I'd rather this be delayed until DBS stops being published so he can be at his peak.

Is DB wrong though?

Let me guess: Goku got something beyond Ultra Instinct, didn’t he?
