Plus the coffee, boba, w/e date is nice because you can see how they react to you offering to buy. If they don't react in some way, to me it's a red flag. I don't care about the 5-10 bucks; but if you don't thank me, don't offer to pay for your own, don't offer to pay for both, fucking something, I just assume you're yet another entitled girl and you're probably not cute enough for me to ignore it and use you as arm candy.

This all depends on your rate of dates and thoughts of expense. Going out to dinner, even "cheap places", can get pricey quick. I always liked the classic, let's get dinner kind of thing. But frankly, in todays dating app world that just doesn't work. It's probably different if you meet before hand or through friends or something.
